Victor, Colorado recently celebrated the unveiling of "Rita the Rock Planter," a massive troll sculpture made entirely of recycled wood by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. This event attracted visitors from across the country, eager to witness the newest addition to Dambo’s collection of 119 trolls worldwide.
The celebration, held on August 4, 2023, marked the completion of the sculpture, which now resides on the Little Grouse Mountain Trail near Victor. Rita the Rock Planter is designed to symbolize the restoration of the land, filling the holes left by historic mining activities. The project involved over 100 volunteers and utilized approximately 200 wooden pallets.
This initiative aims to boost local tourism and economic activity in Victor, a historic mining town. The installation is expected to draw visitors to the area, promoting local businesses and revitalizing the community.
