What’s around?

There are many nearby islands that you can visit easily during the summer. Here are a few ideas.

Milos

Milos: has more upscale dining and lodging options, rugged scenery, and picturesque fishing villages, smaller beaches protected by coves that you can rent chairs at and dine. People say this island has the best beaches.

Naxos

Naxos: relaxation, beach vibes, lively town center, history, etc. Quiet outside of the main town. Good hiking if it’s not too hot.

Paros

Paros: more partying and shopping than the islands below

Ios

Ios: great for beaches and partying. Almost chose this island to get married on. Looks gorgeous!

Crete

Crete: it’s a bit longer of a journey to get here, but with its rich history and beautiful beaches it’s definitely worth a visit if you have 3+ days. We spent about a week on the island (in Plakias) when we visited.
