Our Wedding

It all began in the fall of 2015 in Mrs. Slauson's class on solving equations using Excel. Jon walked in and chose to sit next to Nicole (if you’re curious, ask Jon how he managed to pass that class). While we had previously exchanged brief conversations at parties, that choice of seat set the universe in motion.   We dated for about six months before parting ways. For a few years, we each lived our own lives and dated other people, but fate continually brought us back together. In September 2021, one of us reached out to the other (we're still undecided on who made the first move), and the rest is history.   In November 2022, Jon moved into Nicole's apartment for four months before we decided to venture to Arizona for a few months to see if the warm weather was more to our liking. Ultimately, we concluded that Denver is our true home. In May 2023, we moved into an apartment in downtown Denver, with the main goal of hoping to stay hip and cool.   After two years in the downtown apartment, we decided our hip and cool days are over and found our dream home in Highlands Ranch, CO. Shortly after moving into the house, Nicole convince Jon to get a puppy. In March, the couple adopted Simon and he has captured everyone's heart, besides the cats, they still need a little convincing.   We are so excited to celebrate our love with all our amazing friend and family!

Robyn came into my life the same time as Jon. Mainly because Jon requested she be friends with me so I would be brought into their friend group haha. But our friendship turned into so much more. I can always depend on Robyn to be my shoulder to cry on or companion for wine nights where we rewatch one of the shows we have seen 100 times.

Ash and I met in Denver through mutual friends. Although, she moved to San Antonio a few years ago, when we come back together, no time or distance have passed. Her personality helps ground me and keep me sane when needed but she always knows it's time for fun! She is one of my friends I can count on to book a getaway trip anytime one is needed!

Megan and I went to college together where we were just acquaintances. We didn't become friends till we lived a block away from each other in Denver. Megan is the ultimate spontaneous friend (Type B) and always keeps me on my toes (which is good for a type A person).

Meghan O'Brian

Tina and I met right after college through mutual friends and then lived together for a year in Denver! She is known is known as my friend with amazing dance moves (hopefully we see them at the reception), struggles to say no to brunch and always knows what to say to cheer me up.

Megan is my sister-in-law and we are even so bonded that we have matching cacti tattoos. She always brings a sense of calmness to our family and I am so happy I gained an extra sister! I was so blessed to be able to stand next to her on her big day so I'm happy she'll be apart of ours.

Nicole and Sam go back to sophomore year of high school (so of course had to use a 2010 picture). I am so thankful our friendship and bond has remained so strong over the years. We became good friends through our love of cupcakes, Chinese food and driving around Omaha blasting music!

Juliane came into my life very unexpectedly in 2019 and I guess she chose to keep my crazy self. She has always been one of our greatest cheerleaders since we met her. I know I can always count on her to go on any adventures and bring lots of laugh and smiles with her.

While the wedding is taking place in Palisade, the lodging there is limited and we think it will be more fun to stay in downtown Grand Junction.  The wedding party is staying at Fairfield Inn and Suites downtown Grand Junction and there are 3 other hotels (listed below) within a block from our hotel. We did not reserve room blocks as none of the hotels are large enough to host us all so feel free to pick which hotel you prefer!   We will have two shuttles that will pick up guests in front/side of Hampton Inn Downtown Grand Junction on Main Street. It will leave promptly at 3:10 to head to the venue. There are a few different ways to get to Palisade/Grand Junction: 1) Fly to Grand Junction, CO then Palisade is just a short 20 minute uber or driveAirlines- United, American, Delta, Allegiant 2) Fly into Montrose and rent a car for the hour and half drive to Palisade and Grand JunctionAirlines- American, Delta, Southwest and United 3) Palisade is a 3.5 drive from Denver. Grand Junction is a 4-hour drive. The drive takes you through the Rocky Mountains on I-70 and you will probably see gorgeous fall colorsAirlines- All 4) Amtrack to Grand Junction- longer travel time but a fun experience 5) Simply drive from wherever you are coming from!

Getting Here

We recommend coming a day or two early or staying a tad longer after the wedding to truly experience all that the western slope has to offer!

Palisade is home to 30+ wineries, a few distilleries and breweries. Some of our favorites are:- Restoration Winery- Sauvage Spectrum Winery-Vintners Winery-Clarks Distillery-Palisade Brewing Company If you are interested in a tour of the wineries or distilleries, we recommend booking through Palisade Pedicabs or Pali-Tours.

Largest flat top mountain in the world! Short drive from Palisade or Grand Junction. You will see plenty of fall colors during this time. There are also plenty of lakes if you decide to bring your fishing pole (ask Brad Matthiessen-father of the bride for recommendations)
