Our first date! Sometime in late May of 2018, Jonathan and Megan matched on the dating app Bumble. Megan peaked Jonathan's interest when she initiate the conversation by sending a gif of a whale that said "Whale hello there!" The conversation flowed easily and the two talked non-stop for almost 6 weeks before Megan agreed to go on a date. But finally, on July 3, 2018, the two met for dinner at Melo's Pizza & Pasta on Brentwood, CA. Megan made sure her best friend (and now Matron of Honor), Jenna, had her phone's location...just in case. Their simple dinner date turned into a trip to Target and then a drive up the hill to see if they could see any fireworks. Megan was convinced that Jonathan would kiss her at the top of the hill under the stars. So when he didn't, she decided to make the first move and kissed him before they said good-bye. They went on their second date 2 days later.

This is Jonathan and Megan's first picture together! Megan lived in Monterey for three years while going to school. It is one of her favorite places on earth and she couldn't wait to show Jonathan. They took a quick day trip to hike Point Lobos state park, stop at Megan's favorite candy shop, and hangout at the beach.

Jonathan and Megan went on their first vacation together and went camping in Yosemite! They did lots of hiking, biked around the waterfalls, battled the fading daylight to put up a huge tent, made campfire popcorn and talked about their life and their goals. It was a weekend full of fun and adventure but also felt so easy and comfortable.

Hanging out and having fun with friends and family is one of the couple's favorite things to do! They love Halloween parties and Murder Mystery dinners hosted by their friends. Halloween 2019 was spent with Jonathan's family in South Carolina, where they have tons of alligators and other creatures, so this Steve Irwin costume was a must!

Jonathan and Megan moved into their apartment in Lodi! Megan had never heard of a city called Lodi when Jonathan suggested looking at apartments there. But once he told her they had lots and lots of wine, she was sold! They moved in together just five short weeks before the Covid forced everything to shut down. Even in those uncertain times, they found ways to have fun! Megan bought a LED disco light on Amazon and turned their little apartment into a night club for two. And Jonathan planned game nights and introduced Megan to all of the "classic" movies.

After 6moths of quarantine, Jonathan and Megan decided it was time to get out of the house and decided to take Jonathan's new truck on road trip! They hiked through Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce National Parks. They even went sand-dune surfing on Pink sand in Utah!

Way back December 2019, Jonathan surprised Megan with a trip to visit her cousin in Seattle. The trip was all planned and everything was booked for April 2020. Thanks to Covid, the trip was rescheduled a few times. Finally, a year and half-later they made it to Seattle and had the best weekend playing tourist in Seattle with Megan's cousin, Jessica, and her husband.

2022 was a whirlwind of a year for Jonathan and Megan. They both changed jobs, Megan started small business selling her crafts online and at local craft fairs, and they spent many weekends with friends and family. They even made it to two baseball games in San Francisco to see Jonathan's favorite baseball team! Go Cubs!

She said yes!...well, actually said said "HELL YES!" Jonathan and Megan planned to spend the weekend in South Lake Tahoe and see one of their favorite country artists, Old Dominion, in concert to celebrate their 5-year anniversary. On July 1st, almost exactly five years from their first date, Jonathan proposed on the beach at Edgewood Resort. Megan's happy tears started flowing immediately and she was in complete shock. Jonathan had hired a secret photographer to capture the moment. It was the perfect intimate setting and they both love looking back at the pictures and remembering how they felt in that moment. Jonathan and Megan enjoyed a delicious dinner and champagne at Edgewood and danced the night away at the Old Dominion concert.
