Jordan and Nancy met in the summer of 2014 when Nancy came to Williams Lake to work as a forest fire fighter, a job Jordan had been doing for two summers. They hit it off right from the start and even shared their first kiss at the Rustlers Rugby Club that year. Though true romance didn't start right away, the two became close friends over the next several fire seasons. Nancy found herself always gravitating towards Jordan's goofy humour and warm presence. It was the summer of 2016 when the pair really fell in love. They once again shared a kiss (during Stampede Weekend at the rugby fields of course) and then embarked on a "secret" relationship for the remainder of the fire season. Once September came, Nancy left for nursing school in Vancouver and for a brief moment their future was uncertain. Jordy wasn't about to let Nancy slip away, so he drove to Vancouver and told her he was going to marry her one day (he was right!). The next weekend Nancy came to Williams Lake and they made it official. After a year and a half of long distance, Nancy moved up to Williams Lake. Another year, a dog, a mortgage, and two new jobs later Jordan stunned Nancy with the world's sweetest proposal and of course she said "Yes!" (even though he woke her up from a deep sleep and dragged her barefoot across a rocky beach). A few weeks later they travelled to Japan for the Rugby World Cup and brought home an unexpected stowaway; they were pregnant! Their son Barrett was born June 30th, 2020 and has filled their lives with joy. Watching each other become parents deepened their relationship in a way they didn't know was possible. After a year of sleepless nights, lots of giggles, and an immeasurable number of poopy diapers they've decided to plan their wedding! Jordan and Nancy are beyond excited to commemorate and celebrate their love with all of you. The story is just beginning!
