Q + A

Are children allowed?

While we adore your little ones, we kindly request that children only attend if they are specifically named on your invitation. We hope this allows all of our guests to relax and enjoy the day to the fullest. Thank you so much for your understanding, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

What should I wear?

We kindly ask guests to dress in cocktail attire. This could look like a suit and tie for men and a formal dress that is short or long for women! We do ask that you avoid wearing emerald green, as that’s reserved for the bridal party. Thank you, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you in style!

When should I RSVP by?

-Your invitation will direct you back to this website when the time comes! We do ask that everyone RSVPs by June 6th at the latest!

Can I bring a Plus-One?

Due to space constraints, we kindly ask that only those listed on your invitation join us. If you received a plus-one, it will be noted on your invitation.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 3:30 or 3:45 so everyone can be seated and ready for the ceremony to start promptly at 4:00.

Will transportation be provided?

Since our ceremony and reception venues are only a 2-minute walk apart, no transportation will be provided. We encourage guests to enjoy the short, scenic stroll between locations!

Where should I park?

Parking is available in public areas near the venue. Please note that The Collins is not responsible for any vehicles left unattended, including any theft, damage, or accidents involving vehicles of guests. We encourage you to check for any parking restrictions in the area to avoid issues.

Are there any nearby hotels?

For your convenience, we’ve provided a list of hotel options under the 'Travel' tab on our website. Feel free to explore those options, or if you prefer, you’re welcome to look at other nearby hotels or Airbnb accommodations that suit your needs!

where/what are the ceremony and reception like?

Our ceremony will take place indoors at the Clocktower, providing a beautiful, enclosed space for the occasion. Afterward, we’ll all take a short walk to the reception venue, which features both indoor and outdoor spaces. We’ll be dining inside, but there’s also a lovely outdoor area on grass, complete with a tent and cozy firepits for everyone to enjoy!

What will the weather be like during that time of year?

July in Southern Michigan is typically warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from the low to mid-80s °F (27-30°C) and cooler evenings in the mid-60s °F (around 18°C). While it's usually sunny or partly cloudy, there’s a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, so you may want to bring a light layer or umbrella just in case. We recommend dressing comfortably for the warm summer weather!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We’d love for you to capture special moments, but please make sure your phone is on silent. While we encourage you to snap a few photos, we kindly ask that you enjoy the ceremony without keeping your phone out the whole time. We want everyone to be fully present during this special moment! Thank you for your understanding.

What is the wedding hashtag?

#ReedyToBeOSullivan

What if I have dietary restrictions?

When you RSVP we will have an area for you to leave that information for us. We will relay that to our caterer!

What time does the reception end?

Music will be off at 10:30!

Where can I got to smoke/vape?

Please note that smoking and vaping are not permitted inside The Collins, on the lawn, or on the patio. All smoking must be done at least twenty feet away from the entrance of The Collins, in the designated parking lot, and cigarette butts must be properly disposed of. For those using e-cigarettes or vaping, the same rules apply. These activities are not allowed inside, on the lawn, or on the patio. Violators will be given one warning by staff to comply with these rules. If they refuse, they will be asked to leave the premises and will not be allowed to return. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our venue enjoyable for everyone!
