I'm considering a hotel, what recommendations do you have?
We have a room block at St. Louis Union Station Hotel (Curio by Hilton). You can book a room in this block on or before SEPTEMBER 30th. See the "Hotel" tab for more information.
If you would like to consider a different hotel the Drury Inn St. Louis At Union Station is across the street and the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Louis Downtown is just a couple of blocks away.
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
For the ceremony you can park in the parking lot at the Old Cathedral (209 Walnut St, St. Louis, MO 63102).
For the reception we will provide complimentary valet and self-parking. Overnight parking rates will apply for hotel guests ($40.00 Valet Parking / $30.00 Self-Parking).
Is the wedding ceremony at the Old Cathedral?
Yes, the ceremony will be held at 2 pm on October 8th at the Old Cathedral, also known as the Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France. The wedding will take place right under the St. Louis Arch on the riverfront.
Is there a restroom in the Old Cathedral?
Yes, BUT it cannot be accessed once the ceremony starts. Please use the restroom prior to coming to the ceremony.
What should I do if I can’t make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
All events will take place indoors. Rain or shine, we'll have a good time!
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, you are welcome to enjoy all that STL has to offer while the wedding party takes pictures. Check out the "Things to Do" tab for ideas. Then at 6 pm join us at Union Station for the cocktail hour prior to the reception.
Can I bring a date?
We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable and therefore need anyone attending to RSVP. If you have any questions about your invitation or who is invited, send us an email at Effinger2022@gmail.com.
Can I bring my kids?
Our wedding is going to be mostly adults-only. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. We have a great photographer to capture every moment and will share the pictures with you post-wedding. Feel free to take pictures and use the photo booth at the reception.
