Our story began our senior year of college at the University of Illinois, on a cold night out at the bars. Kam's bar is notorious for their terrible service, which is what brought us together. I couldn't seem to catch the bartenders attention, so Cameron offered to help. Not only did he help me get my drink ordered, he bought my "Vodka, Water, Lime" for me as well. We talked while waiting on our drinks, got each other's snap chats, and went our separate ways, knowing Christmas break was the next day. Cameron and I couldn't stop talking during Christmas break. I had to go back to school early for track, and we decided to officially hang out on the day of January 8, 2022.

Cameron and my relationship only grew stronger over the next couple of months. I had told him that we wouldn't be able to see each other as much once track season started, but we somehow found a way to see each other almost every day. Before we knew it, we were walking across the stage at graduation. I was planning on moving to Georgia, and Cameron was staying back in Illinois. We didn't know how we were going to make it work, but we were determined. After a couple of trips to see each other, Cameron found a job in Duluth, GA, an hour away from me, and made the move shortly after. Cameron's move to Georgia was a defining moment in our relationship, and I knew from that point on that it was going to work out.

I didn't know how Cameron was going to do it, but I knew it would be absolutely perfect. The story begins on Saturday, July 8th when Cameron decided to take me to get my nails done. I knew this was strange, but I wasn't going to turn down the offer. Cameron then suggested that we go ring shopping at the mall in Athens. At this point, I knew he had taken me to get my nails done, but I was convinced that he still needed to buy a ring. Boy was I wrong. On Sunday after church, we decided to go up to one of our favorite wineries in North Georgia called Cottage Winery. My family went with us, which was nothing out of the ordinary. If you know me, you know that I have a small bladder, which makes Cameron's plan so genius. Cameron planned the whole proposal around when I went to the restroom. The proposal was perfect, it was sunny, warm, and the mountains could be seen so clearly. My parents and my sister were able to witness the whole thing and help Cameron pull it off. It was a day that we will both cherish forever.
