Josh and Anna met in Greenville, NC in 2022. At the time, Anna was finishing up nursing school, and Josh was working as a paramedic and firefighter. On their very first date at Dickinson Avenue Public House, Anna’s opening line to Josh was, “You have really nice eyes,” before even saying hello—a moment neither of them will forget!

Things quickly fell into place, and they knew they had found something special. When Josh left for Army Basic Combat Training, they wrote each other letters every single day. Those letters became an important part of their relationship, so much so that they kept every one. Even now, with Josh at Officer Candidate School, they’ve continued the tradition.

After Anna moved to Raleigh to work as a critical care nurse in the neuro ICU at WakeMed, Josh found his place as a critical care paramedic at UNC Rex. They both have busy careers in medicine, but they always find time to support each other’s goals. Anna stood by Josh’s side while he completed his master’s in healthcare data analytics, and she continues to support him as he juggles his pre-medical school courses, Officer Candidate School, and work. In turn, Josh encourages Anna as she works toward becoming a nurse practitioner.

Outside of work, they love to spend time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains or relaxing at Atlantic Beach, they’re always up for an adventure. They’ve also discovered a shared love for escape rooms and have completed over 40 together—though the number might be higher by the time you read this!

Josh and Anna now live in Raleigh together with their four beloved parrots: Bella, Clive, Brian, and Nike, each with their own quirky and fun personality. After the wedding, Josh and Anna will set off on their next adventure: a Mediterranean honeymoon cruise through the Greek Isles.
