Lodging
All hotels listed are within walking distance from the wedding venue (the Oread is a longer walk). Lawrence is a smaller town and any hotel in Lawrence will be an easy 5-10 min Uber/Lyft to the venue.
If you are booking only for Sunday night, rates in Lawrence average around 100-140/night. There is a football game in Lawrence on Saturday night, so you may see a premium charge at some hotels near Mass street (Lawrence downtown strip) on that night. We have a room block to reduce the price at one hotel for those staying Saturday and Sunday.
There are also Airbnb options in Lawrence which do not appear to have the football game surcharge. KU's football stadium is under construction this year and their games will played in KC, so its unclear how that will impact hotel rooms in Lawrence when the time gets closer.

Travel Q&A
What's the best place to fly into?
Lawrence, KS is a 50 minute drive from the Kansas City, MO airport (MCI). Yes, fly to Missouri even though the wedding is in Kansas. Wichita is a 2-3 hour drive from Lawrence and is not recommended.
Can I stay in Kansas City/suburbs?
This is a personal decision. If you are not drinking, it is a relatively easy drive - approx 30 min to the suburbs where both parents of the bride/groom live and 40-50 min to downtown KC.
We do recommend staying in Lawrence if you can! We love this town, it has live music, fun bars, antique shops and is generally a good time. The bride and groom are planning to spend the weekend in Lawrence with anyone else who wishes to join.
If you've never been to KC and plan to spend an extra day or two in the city, we recommend the Crossroads District!
Is there parking in Lawrence?
There is ample parking in Lawrence, and most of Kansas City.
Should I rent a car?
There is not great public transportation in the KC/Lawrence area and cars and generally recommended. However, Uber/Lyfts are readily available and you can get around without a rental if needed.
