How do I RSVP?

Guests can RSVP online using the RSVP link on our website or by scanning the QR code included on their mailed invitation. Please note that the RSVP link will not be active until wedding invitations are sent out. When submitting your RSVP, you’ll be asked to provide your dinner selection and answer a few other important questions to help us prepare for the event. We kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible to ensure we can arrange sufficient food and beverages for everyone.

Can I bring a plus one?

As we are having a plated dinner service, it’s important for us to have an accurate head count. We kindly request that only invited guests attend the reception. If your plus-one is not included on your invitation, please let us know when you RSVP for our consideration.

Can I bring my kids?

Kids are welcome to join us on our special day; however, we kindly ask that, if possible, arrangements be made to leave children at home. As the reception will feature a plated meal, there are no designated kids' meals or seating specifically suitable for small children.

When do I need to RSVP by?

We kindly ask that all guests RSVP by 11/21/2025, one month before the wedding. As the cocktail hour and reception are planned based on guest count, any guests who have not completed their RSVP by 11/28/2025 will be removed from the guest list and will not be able to attend the reception.

What will the weather be like?

On December 20th, Skamania Lodge typically sees temperatures ranging from an average low of 32°F to a high of 42°F. While the ceremony will be outdoors, the venue provides heat lamps to keep things cozy. Guests are encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire with warm layers or bring a jacket for added comfort. For those who might still feel the chill, lap blankets will be available to help you stay snug while enjoying the festivities.

Where should I stay?

We understand that many of our guests will be traveling from out of town to celebrate with us. To make your stay more convenient, we’ve arranged a 10% discount code at Skamania Lodge. You can find details on special rates and accommodations on the "Accommodations" page of our website. Online reservations can be made at https://skamania.com/#/booking/step-1?promo=1YX963 Phone Reservations can be made by calling 844-432-4748 they can assist you with booking. They may need a code to associate whoever is calling with the wedding, please use code: 1yx963 and you will be able to apply a 10% off rate to certain room types. For those looking for other nearby options, there are a few additional hotels in Stevenson, Washington, and Cascade Locks, Oregon. For out-of-town guests who don’t want to drive all the way home, we recommend: McMenamins Edgefield – A charming hotel located 35 minutes from the wedding in Troutdale, Oregon. Holiday Inn Express Portland East – A comfortable option just 30 minutes from the wedding in Troutdale, Oregon. If you have any questions or need recommendations, please don’t hesitate to reach out! After the reception, the Bride and Groom will be spending the night at the Lodge. For those who’d like to extend the celebration, we’ll be at the River Rock Lounge from 10 PM to 11 PM for a casual non-hosted gathering. The following morning, we’ll enjoy a non-hosted breakfast in the Cascade Dining Room before heading out and would love to see you if you’re around!

How should I get there?

Skamania Lodge sits at an elevation of 1,630 feet. While snow is generally not expected at lower elevations during this time of year, guests should be prepared for any changes in weather. We recommend carpooling if transportation could be challenging, as no event transportation will be provided. For those traveling to Skamania Lodge, the closest bridge crossing is the Bridge of the Gods, connecting Oregon and Washington. The toll for crossing the Bridge of the Gods is $3 for cars in both directions, and it can be paid with cash or credit/debit. For most Oregon guests traveling I-84 East, paying the toll and crossing the Bridge of the Gods will provide a faster route to the venue compared to taking Washington Highway 14 East.

Who should I contact if I have questions about the wedding?

For any questions or additional information, please feel free to reach out to Shelby or Josh directly. Alternatively, you can send us a message at our dedicated wedding email: shelby.joshua.wedding@gmail.com.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest that guests arrive 15 to 30 minutes early, as we will be doing our best to start the ceremony promptly at 4:00 PM. Upon arrival, there will be a welcome book or a fun activity for guests to participate in, helping us create lasting memories of everyone who joined us on our special day.

Will transportation be provided to and from the wedding venue?

Transportation will not be provided for the event. For guests who prefer not to drive at night, we encourage you to consider staying at Skamania Lodge using our 10% discount code and departing the next morning.

Where is the ceremony?

The ceremony will take place at the Riverview Pavilion, located behind Skamania Lodge. We recommend parking in the red-highlighted area on the provided map. From the parking lot, enter through the Lodge's main entrance, proceed straight past the fireplace, and follow the signs for "Ceremony." The path includes about eight steps down and a section of compacted stone. While we have personally walked the path and found it easily navigable, please feel free to ask the Lodge's front desk staff for assistance if you have any concerns.

Where should I sit at the ceremony?

There will be a few reserved seats at the front for parents, grandparents, and for loved ones joining us in spirit. We kindly request that you pick a seat, not a side. Feel free to sit wherever you like and take the opportunity to meet the wonderful people around you as we all come together to celebrate as one family.

Where is the reception?

The reception will take place indoors at the Stevenson Ballroom. After the ceremony, please follow the marked path leading from the Riverview Pavilion to the reception area. Once inside the lodge, head right, then turn left at the River Rock Lounge to arrive at the ballroom.

How do I know where to sit at the reception?

With the exception of a few tables reserved for immediate family, seating is open. Guests are encouraged to sit wherever they feel most comfortable.

What time should I go home?

The night will officially end at 10 PM with a send-off. The wedding party will handle cleaning up the decor, while Lodge staff will take care of the rest of the venue. Guests are welcome to stay afterward for non-hosted drinks and snacks at the River Rock Lounge, which will be open until 11 PM, or enjoy the outdoor campfires. The Bride and Groom will be staying overnight at the Lodge and invite anyone also staying to join them for a non-hosted breakfast at the Cascade Dining Room on Sunday morning.

When will we eat?

Light snacks and drinks will be provided at 5 PM during the cocktail hour. Plated dinner service begins at 6 PM, with cake cutting scheduled for 7:15 PM.

What if I have a dietary requirement?

Dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available. Please notify us in advance if you have any dietary restrictions to ensure your needs are accommodated.

Will you be serving alcohol?

Yes, alcohol will be served! During the reception, lemonade, water, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available between 5 PM and 10 PM, along with a champagne toast. Unlimited beer and wine will be provided during the cocktail hour from 5 PM to 6 PM. After that, alcohol will be non-hosted and can be purchased from the bars during the reception. Spirits, cocktails, and mocktails will also be available for purchase at any time. For those spending the night, the lodge bar will remain open until 11 PM.

Is there a theme?

Our theme is winter colors. The bridesmaids will be dressed in burgundy, while the groomsmen will wear black suits with burgundy or sage ties.

What should I wear?

Guests are welcome to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, but we recommend warm semi-formal attire given the cooler temperatures. Women might consider full-length dresses and cardigans, while men might opt for jackets, blazers, or fleece.

What shoes should I wear?

Wear comfortable shoes, especially if you plan to dance! There are no concerns about getting shoes dirty or muddy on the property.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present. Except for a quick photo before the officiant starts and a selfie by the officiant, we ask that phones and cameras remain tucked away. Our professional photographer will capture all the highlights, and we’ll share those photos with you afterward. Thank you for helping us create a distraction-free experience!

Where can I find the photos afterward?

All photos and videos will be uploaded to an online repository after the wedding. Guests will receive a link to download them.

Can I post photos from the wedding on social media?

We’d love for you to share your memories of our special day! Please use our official wedding hashtag, #ShelbyAndJosh2025, when posting on Instagram or Facebook so we can see all your wonderful photos. However, we kindly ask that no photos or videos from the wedding be uploaded to social media until after the cocktail hour. We’d like to be the first to share the news of our celebration. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us create this unforgettable moment!

Do you have a gift registry?

Yes, there’s a gift registry available on this website. While we appreciate Ninja appliances, home improvement projects, and contributions to our honeymoon, the greatest gift is having our friends and family join us for this special day. That said, we also humbly accept: Bitcoin, gold nuggets, limbs, first-born children, Holy Grails, lightsabers, islands, lifetime Walt Disney World annual passes, perpetual energy devices, yachts, a flux capacitor, and small nations.
