Wedding Party

Mariah Nelson
Mariah Nelson - Maid of Honor

From Mariah

I’m Mariah, the proud sister-in-law to the radiant bride, Krysten and the sister to the dashing groom, Josiah! I’ve had the privilege of watching Josiah grow into the amazing man he is today. It’s been an absolute blessing to witness my baby brother meet and grow with such an incredible woman, Krysten. With their relationship, I am fortunate to have another sister to share life’s joys and challenges with. We learn from one another’s experiences, perspectives and wisdom and in turn, we lift each other up. Our sisterhood is truly a treasure, and I’m grateful everyday for this invaluable connection.

I love seeing Krysten and Josiah’s love flourish and their bond strengthen as they continue to learn together. I couldn’t be prouder of them as they embark on this beautiful journey together, hand in hand and heart to heart.💕

&& speaking of journeys, I’m also on an exciting one of my own— currently embracing the adventure of pregnancy! So, if you see a very pregnant lady dancing a little too enthusiastically at the wedding, that’s probably me, about to POP with excitement for these two love birds!

I can’t wait to celebrate love, laughter, and happily ever after with all of you!

Tabitha Nelson
Tabitha Nelson - Bridesmaid

From Tabitha

Im Tabitha, the middle child sister of the groom. Married to Matt, the funny, hot guy with *a few* matching tattoos. Mom of Kraton, bonus mom to Aiden and Alex. I spend my days on the clock getting people excited about pets and my days off the clock hanging out with my own cool pets! Some of my other hobbies include plants and body art.

Before Josiah was born, we knew we wanted a little brother. Wed pray every night at bed time ... and please let my mom get pregnant and give us a little brother. Amen. When Josiah finally did come, he endured a childhood full of more smothers (sister/mothers) than most little boys would tolerate. It probably did have its advantages, like the spoonfulls of cure all, peanut butter Id sneak him any time he had growing pains in the middle of the night.

As Josiah got older, my sisters and I would joke to each other about how whoever he dated was gonna have to *literally* be perfect for us all to approve of her with our unreasonable expectations for our baby brother.

When Krysten came along it was immediately obvious that she was intelligent, kind and SO beautiful. AND she wasnt too shaken by our quirky family. If youve ever experienced a game of spoons at the Nelsonville cottage after a good meal, you know what I mean...

Unreasonable expectations not too unachievable (for her). My little brother found his person and as it turns out, she is *literally* perfect for us.

Im so thankful for the opportunity to watch them as they become adults and grow together, and I cant wait to see what incredible things the future holds for them as husband and wife.❣️

Richelle Nelson
Richelle Nelson - Bridesmaid

From Richelle

Hey Folks! I’m Richelle. I like to tease that I was the baby until Josiah came along and stole the show. It’s ok though, because if you’ve heard the story of how he came about, you would know that we were quite persistent in getting our little brother. So much so, that we prayed almost every day for two years that our momma would get pregnant. She finally did and with four girls already, she would tell us, I hope you got the prayer all the way through, this better be a boy! The day came and we found out it was in fact an answer to our prayers. We got a baby brother! I remember being so excited! One day, I even took my mom to the side and very confidently asked “can I be the first one to hold him.” The day he was born my heart was filled with so much love and pride for such a sweet soul. Through the decades (uh, that’s actually crazy to say!!) he has proven to be a true gift from God. I am still filled with such pride and love for the young man he has become. The example of kindness and sincerity he displays is outstanding.

I used to think that with so many older sisters and unwanted opinions, it would be impossible for Jo to find someone all his overprotective sisters would actually like. To say I am so pleasantly surprised to be wrong is an understatement. Krysten, you are an absolute treasure of a person. There is truly no one more perfect of a match for our dear Josiah! The ways that you encourage him in his faith and in life are heartwarming. Your sophistication and intelligence are an inspiration to others. It has been a gift to get to know you and I look forward to the ways that your marriage and relationship transform and grow. We are so blessed to have you as a part of our family.

Peyton Odum
Peyton Odum - Best Man

From Peyton

Hello, my name is Peyton Odum, Ive known Josiah since I was very young. We attended church together for a long time and we grew up within a similar group of people. Together we were a mischievous bunch and we had many adventures together throughout the years, both at scouts, church, and school. Most notably, Josiah has always been a person to which I could open up my heart. We had many late night discussions on topics ranging from the completely outlandish to heartfelt and dear. Countless sleepovers were spent wandering the fields at the midnight hour talking to each other about the past, present, and future. Growing up my life would have not been the same without Josiah there.

Seth Lindhorst - Groomsman

From Seth

Hi, Im Seth! I have known Josiah since he was a young whippersnapper. When we first met, our favorite pass time was beating the tar out of each other with pool noodles. Our parents never really enjoyed us doing that. Growing up, my favorite Sunday afternoons were spent pretending that Josiah and I were saving the world together. Christ made no mistake when he brought us together. The fellowship and hard work that I’ve been privileged to participate in alongside Jo, has been extraordinary.

Jo started bringing Krysten to church one Sunday, and I knew, if she loved him as much as he loved her, they would be inseparable. I believe from the bottom of my heart, that the Lord has ordained their love for one another. I am excited to see the many amazing works they do for the Lord in their life together!

Well anyway, as you two traverse the crazy terrain of a Godly marriage, I will continue to pray steadfast for wisdom and guidance to direct your paths. I have faith that whatever you two put your minds to, can be accomplished.

Oh and I cant forget that Mrs. Pennie and Mr. Richard approve of this marriage. If they approve, I approve. I am beyond stoked to see the soon-to-be Nelson story play out! Never forget to pray. Always put Christ first. Matthew 19:6

Wyatt Beasley
Wyatt Beasley - Groomsman

From Wyatt

Hi, I’m Wyatt Beasley. Me and Josiah go way back to Sunday school at Third Baptist Church. Anything from Me, Jo, and Seth beating each other to death with pool noodles in the gym to just sitting and talking about life, I can truly say all of those moments mean the world to me. It’s pretty crazy going from those childhood memories to watching your buddy get married, time sure does fly!

Seeing Krysten and Josiah grow with one another has also been very special and I’m so thankful to see them come together as one in front of God. I have always been praying for you guys and will keep doing that. God is clearly working very hard in each of your lives and has molded each of you into amazing individuals that I can call my friends. I congratulate you two on this wonderful marriage, and pray for many more years of it to come. God bless you guys!

Haydon Tackett
Haydon Tackett - Groomsman

From Haydon

I’m Haydon, younger brother to Krysten and friend of Josiah. My sister, as we were growing up, was super smart and nerdy being into things like Harry Potter and Star Wars, which I promptly made fun of her for as is my little brother duty. She was always super kind and caring even when I was a huge brat. I was super impressed by her talents in cross country and in robotics. I actually did robotics for a year because of her and it was fun. Watching her grow up as her younger brother was amazing because I’ve never met anyone who strived so hard for perfection and greatness, and fly so close to that dream all of her Highschool career. I love that she took interest in the shows and things I watch, and we watch so many cool shows together (Stranger Things, RWBY, SpyXFamily, and more). She’s awesome and we might not have always seen eye to eye on things but that never stopped us from supporting each other when it really mattered. Through thick and thin, she’s and awesome sister and I can only assume an awesome fiancé cause she’s getting married.

My sister has had her fair share of boyfriends who have all turned out to suck, but hey that’s most guys. But, Josiah was very different. He’s awesome, genuine, and an amazing drummer/guitarist. I actually wanted to do drumline because I saw Josiah playing tenors for the Marion High School Marching Wildcat Band drumline, which I am now a part of. He’s freakin amazing as a welder and really funny. I enjoy playing games with him and he’s been a good influence on me as a kid wanting to do better in my faith and in my own attitude and ways of acting. Overall, great guy who I can’t wait to join my family and Vice Versa.

That’s all she wrote (well he cause I’m a boy but you know what I mean).

Jackson Tackett

From Jackson

My name is Jackson Tackett. I’m Krysten’s brother and I play football for the Marion High School football team. Krysten is the best sister I could ever ask for. She has always been there for me and has been a good role model throughout my life.
She has her moments, but she is awesome.

I value only God over family and I know Josiah does too. Krysten has had other boyfriends, most were losers, but Josiah is like an older brother. He is a good man and a good influence. I live knowing my sister will be in good and trustworthy hands. I wish them the best throughout their journey of life together.

Kyle Sweeney
Kyle Sweeney - Groomsman

From Kyle

I’m Kyle, Brother (not by blood) to Josiah. We have known eachother since kindergarten but didn’t start actually becoming friends till junior high. From a young age we had a passion for music and it would be one of the things that kept us connected through high school and so on. We would try and learn a new song faster than the other or teach eachother a new technique. The thing I remember most from our teenage years is that we always knew we weren’t gonna be like the rest of our generation.

Krysten has been a friend of mine for about 6 or so years and I am more than happy to finally have her be a part of the hodgepodge family Josiah and I have put together. I wouldn’t be where I am in the army today if it wasn’t for Krysten pushing me to be better in our high school years at jrotc. Krysten is a beautiful, kind and warm hearted person, who is willing to get the job done whatever it may be. I look forward to making memories with the both of them as we both go into our next chapter, marriage.

From The Sweeney household you guys will always have a place to stay and somebody to talk to. May grace guide in this life and the next.
