Our Wedding

As Juana was driving home from Santa Clarita, she reached out to a friend to see how they were doing. The friend mentioned they were at a car show, and on a whim, Juana decided to stop by. As she pulled into the parking lot and stepped out of her car, John walked up to her and said, “I like your car.” Juana laughed and replied, “Thanks, it’s my mom car.” Not knowing she had a son, John responded, “I have the same one.” What started as John relying on Juana for rides while his S2000 was getting worked on quickly turned into something more. In return, he bought her food—an easy way to her heart. By her 30th birthday, she “hired” him to be the photographer. From that moment on, people began to realize he wasn’t just the photographer—he was much more. Over the years, they faced deep heartache together. John lost his grandfather, Manny, and Juana lost her dad. There’s no doubt neither of them would have made it through those losses without the love and support they gave each other. Shortly after Juana’s father passed, they found out they were pregnant. In April 2023, they got engaged at their daughter’s baby shower, surrounded by family and friends. Just one month later, they welcomed their daughter, Maila Jade (yes—that’s her first name). That July, they packed up their lives and made the four-hour drive to Las Vegas, ready to build a better future and a stronger life for their children. After moving to Vegas, Makoa returned to public school, and their weeks quickly filled with karate and soccer practices. Somehow, they managed to keep everything together on their own—all while raising a newborn. Fast forward to the present: after two years in Vegas, they placed an offer on a house, and it was accepted. God’s timing was perfect—the offer was accepted just one day before Juana’s birthday, and they moved in on her older brother’s birthday. None of it would have been possible without the help of Juana’s family, who were already in town for a competition. Since then, they’ve been slowly turning their house into a warm, cozy home—one that’s comfortable for everyone who visits.

- Luggage Tags. Royal will provide a paper tag that can be printed. Since they are paper, there is a chance that it can get ripped.- Clear ID card holder with or without a lanyard. You will not be needing cash or your card while on the ship. You sea pass is all you need.- Magnetic Hooks. These can be on the wall. Hold hats, bags, lanyards.- Multi USB/C plug. Royal is no longer accepting power surge or extension cords. They can only be multi usb/usb c. Please see suggest Amazon list for a photo.- Reef Safe Sunscreen - if you are getting off the ship in Mexico, they will check. This is my favorite, plus its also allergy safe. Q + A

We highly recommend getting into Miami, March 29 and staying the night. We wouldn't want you missing the cruise due to flight issues. We have chosen to fly into FLL instead and take either the train (Brightline) or Uber to Miami. It is about 30 - 45 minutes away depending on the time that you land.

Gratuity

You can have that automatically added to your reservation (1 less thing to worry about), or you can pay the staff in cash. If you choose to have gratuity automatically added, it is $92.50 per person for the whole cruise. We like to pay cash because we know that it goes directly to the staff members that have been assisting us the whole cruise. If you'd like to pay the staff and see that gratuity has been added, to take that off you must go to guest services to have them remove it.

Getting off in Mexico? 
 
Mexico has now added a tourist fee of $5 that will be added onto your Royal charges. This is only for individuals that get off at the Port and want to explore.

Check in. Check in opens on Feb 13. When it ask what time you would like to board the boat please select the earliest time open, especially if you are on the bus with us.

Royal Caribbean/Wedding Updates

The ceremony will take place on Royal Caribbean's private island Cococay. Guest are encourage to wear light and breathable material as it can get hot at 10am. The ceremony will take place on sand, you are welcome to wear flats or no shoes at all. We will leave that up to you. We do ask that guest refrain from wearing sage green, olive green and beige (pants are ok) the day of the wedding. If you are still having trouble with what to wear, please see attached photos.

Days Leading

Ceremony will begin at 10am. We ask guest to start getting off the boat by 9:45. There is a short walk from the boat to the ceremony location. It should only take about 30 minutes. Once the ceremony is done you are welcome to enjoy Cococay. Please remember to bring swimwear and anything else that may be needed for the water. You'll have about 4 hours to spend on the island. If you got the drink package it works there.
