Meet Our Ceremony Officiant

The ceremony will be officiated by the couple's close friend, Simon&nbsp;Bae.

Jueli and Kun met during their first year in pharmacy school together. He looked at her from across the&nbsp;bar and knew he had to talk to her; she quickly&nbsp;realized that she had found a soulmate in him. Since then, Jueli and Kun have moved to Beantown Boston, where they share a love of food, game nights, and travel. They can't wait to start the next chapter of their lives together!

How We Met

On Chinese New Year, February 17, 2018, Kun convinced Jueli to take a long stroll by the cold waters of Brooklyn, NY in the midst of a light snow storm. He brought her to the beautiful and historic Jane's Carousel, where she was told that she would be part of a promotional video for the carousel. Unbeknownst to her, it was all a ruse. While they were riding on the carousel, the classic carousel melody turned into a touching love song as they were joined by friends and family from all over the country (and even Canada!). Ceremony

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5pm. We kindly ask guests to&nbsp;start arriving at 4:30pm to grab a lemonade and to start mingling.

Cocktail hour and dinner reception will follow shortly after the ceremony. Be sure to come hungry and to bring your dancing shoes!

Entree Choices

When you RSVP, you will have the option of selecting one of the following as your dinner entree:1. Beef short ribs braised with garlic, ginger, and soy, and topped with fresh scallion;&nbsp;accompanied by a side of rice and&nbsp;bok choy sauteed with orange, soy, mirin, and&nbsp;sesame seeds.2. Citrus tea-smoked salmon served with Asian chili oil droplets; accompanied by a side of rice and bok choy sauteed with orange, soy, mirin, and sesame seeds.3. Soba noodles served&nbsp;with a&nbsp;sweet ginger sauce, eggplant, mango, and pan-fried tofu, topped with touches of chili, sesame oil, and fresh herbs.If you have any&nbsp;dietary restrictions, please include it in the comment box when you RSVP.

Is there a dress code?

We want our wedding to be a fun excuse for you to break out your best cocktail attire! We kindly ask that you refrain from wearing white on the day of.

Any other special attire notes we should know?

Parts of our wedding will be outdoors (weather permitting), ie ceremony and cocktail hour. Although the&nbsp;reception will be inside, the outdoor gardens will still be available for you to enjoy for a night time stroll. Temperatures may dip a bit at night, so you may want to bring a light jacket or cardigan. It could also be very hot and muggy, since it is DC in the summer, so please check the weather forecast and be prepared for the unpredictable DC&nbsp;weather!

Additionally, our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on grassy/rocky areas, so plan your&nbsp;footwear accordingly!

Can I bring my children?

We love being auntie and uncle to all of your adorable kids. However, our venue is limited in size and is unable to accommodate children for our wedding. We hope you understand and are still able to attend!

Can I bring a date?

Unfortunately our wedding venue restricts&nbsp;the number of guests we are able to accommodate. In order to keep our guest list within those limitations, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know when you RSVP! We want to be able to accommodate your needs as best as we can.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Kindly RSVP by Monday, March 25, 2019.

How do I get to the venue?

As discussed previously, because there is a limited number of parking spots near the Meridian House, we do recommend 1) taking the bus, which is really convenient; 2) using a ride share service such as&nbsp;Lyft or Uber, a safe and affordable option; or 3) carpooling by car to the Meridian House. If you are planning to drive and park in the lot, please let us know at the time of your RSVP&nbsp;so we can accommodate your spot. Due to the limited number of spots, it is on a first come first serve basis. Thank you for understanding.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5 pm. We kindly ask guests to start arriving at 4:30 pm so that you can grab a lemonade and mingle with the other guests.

What time will the reception end?

Can I take pictures?

Our ceremony will be an "unplugged" ceremony, meaning that using your private cellphones will not be allowed. We have a great team&nbsp;of photographers and videographers who will be working tirelessly to capture all the moments of our ceremony. We hope you understand.

You will be able to take pictures during cocktail hour and the reception. If you post pictures on Facebook or Instagram, please use the hashtag #juelifoundherkun so that we can collect all of your memories on our special day!

The closest airport to the hotel accommodations and the wedding venue is through the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). This airport is accessible by Metro, ride shares, and also airport shuttle services (such as SuperShuttle).

Although a little further, you can also fly into Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). These may be an option for those who are planning to rent a car while visiting.

For your convenience, a limited number&nbsp;of hotel rooms have been reserved at The Madison in&nbsp;Washington, DC.&nbsp;When making a reservation, please use the link below&nbsp;in order to receive our discounted rate of $139 per night (not including taxes and additional fees). This rate is available Wednesday, May 22nd through Monday,&nbsp;May 27th.&nbsp;Please make your reservation before April 24, 2019 in order to receive the discounted rate. The rooms with the discounted rate are limited and will be available on a first come first serve basis. We highly recommend booking earlier to take advantage of the lower rates.

The Madison Washington, DC, a Hilton Hotel

Hotel:&nbsp;The Madison Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of 3 Metro (subway train) stations. 1) McPherson Square station is 3 blocks away (~6 minutes walking) and is on the Blue,&nbsp;Orange, and Silver lines. 2)&nbsp;Farragut West station is 5 blocks away (~8 minutes walking) and is also on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. 3)&nbsp;Farragut North is 4 blocks away (~7 minutes walking) and is on the Red line. The Metro is&nbsp;a convenient way to get around most of the tourist hot spots in the city!Airport: The Metro can take you between&nbsp;the Reagan National Airport (DCA) and&nbsp;the hotel&nbsp;for ~$3-4 in about 30-50 minutes. From DCA, the National Airport Metro (subway train)&nbsp;station on the Blue line will take you directly to the&nbsp;McPherson Square station, which is a quick walk to the hotel (as referenced above).Wedding Venue:&nbsp;The Meridian House is easily accessible by bus on the S2 and S4 lines just one block from the hotel. The bus will drop you off at the Meridian Hill Park on 16th Street & Crescent Place, one block from the wedding venue. The wedding venue is also&nbsp;a 15-20 minute walk from the U Street Metro station on the Green and Yellow lines&nbsp;and the Dupont Circle Metro station on the Red line.

Uber and Lyft are also safe and&nbsp;convenient options for you to get around town.Airport: The hotel&nbsp;is 4-5 miles from Reagan National Airport (DCA) or ~$15-20 for an Uber/Lyft&nbsp;ride.&nbsp;Wedding Venue: The hotel is about an 8 minute drive (~$3-15) from the wedding venue. We highly encourage taking an Uber/Lyft to and from the wedding rather than driving.

Things To Do in DC

The Smithsonian museums are (almost) all free, with the largest and most popular ones located together on the National Mall. Some of our favorites are the Museum of Natural History, where you can see the Hope diamond and dinosaur fossils;&nbsp;the Air and Space Museum, which showcases many interactive components on the history of our ascent into the stars; and the Hirshhorn&nbsp; Museum of Modern Art, with its rotating art displays and outdoor sculpture garden.

The Smithsonian Museums

The National Monuments make a great visit both during the day time or even at night when they are lit up by beautiful white lights. You can walk around the Tidal Basin to visit the Jefferson Memorial or view the Lincoln Memorial facing the Reflecting Pool. You can also take a picture with your home state in the World War II Memorial, a short walk from the Lincoln Memorial.

National Monuments

The Georgetown area is known for its old historic charm. You can make a day of shopping and exploring the cobblestone streets and take breaks by kayaking in the Potomac River or visiting the Exorcist stairs. There's also many outdoor seating areas at several of the city's top restaurants for you to take advantage of.
