Before hitting the delete button on Hinge for good, Matt and Julia decided to give the app one more chance. After “matching” on the app, Julia and Matt talked non stop, becoming “pen pals,” as some of Julia’s friends liked to call it. The two decided to meet in person on March 21st, 2023 at The Dock. Their first date was full of conversation and laughs, so much so that both couldnt find time to eat, which is hard to believe from either of them! At the end of the date, Matt even gave Julia flowers for her birthday, because he felt bad missing her birthday the following weekend due to a wrestling trip. After their first date, the two talked and saw each other more and more frequently. Then Matt asked Julia to be his girlfriend and became her Mr. March.

Over the next few months Julia and Matt filled their weekends with little adventures from their list of “things to do.” From a NEPA pizza tour to kayaking the Delaware River to season football openers (GO BILLS!) to family gatherings, it didn’t take long for Matt to know she was the one. Matt decided to propose to Julia on October 28th, 2023 at their favorite place to take sunset selfies, Irving Cliff, overlooking Julia’s hometown of Honesdale.
