If you happen to be passing through Lexington on your way to Danville, there are lots of fun places to visit and things to do. Here are a few of our favorites.
Although you won't be visiting during racing season, you will still be in the Horse Capital of the World. Feel free to take a stroll around the grounds of Keeneland and see the beauty that horse country has to offer.
This gorgeous distillery was one of our first date spots when Julia was on a visit to Lexington. Their bourbon is amazing, but the storytelling around the history of the area and industry (as well as the tasting) will have you in the Kentucky spirit.
A top local spot is the Lexington Distillery District. It's got everything you could need for a night out.
Food - Pizza at Goodfella's, Tacos at Desperado's, or German-inspired food and duck pin bowling at District 7 Social Hall
Libations - Craft Beer at Ethereal Brewing, Bourbon at the James Pepper Distillery, Ciders from Wise Bird, or fantastic cocktails at Goodfella's
Coffee - Have a latte or tea at Brevede
Ice Cream - A personal favorite of ours is Crank & Boom!
Experience the Kentucky Bourbon Trail by booking a tour of the distillery or enjoying a sampling of their products.
