Our meet-cute! We met for the first time at the VMFA - and it wasn't just the artwork that caught our eye.

The following April, Julia met Jake's family and we officially began dating!

That summer, Jake traveled KY to meet Julia's parents and visit her hometown (no pressure!).

Jake and Julia traveled to NYC during fall break to visit friends and cross-off some of Jake's bucket list. We wouldn't see each other in person again for almost a year, since Jake would deploy to Afghanistan that Halloween.

After Jake's deployment and Julia's study abroad to Ireland, we would meet again almost a year later. Thanks to Julia's dad, we were able to attend the first Railbird music festival and get to see the likes of Hozier & Jack White! Not a bad homecoming.

We spent our first Christmas together in our first apartment with two new furry friends - Cosmo & Wanda!

A year later, we would say goodbye to Julia's childhood home as her parents moved to Charleston, SC, and gain the Raimondi family cat to our crew - Toast.

Two years after we moved in together, we left our downtown Richmond apartment for our first rental house in the quieter Chesterfield suburbs.

After loving each other for four years, Jake took the plunge and proposed! All of Julia's closest friends were in attendance and it was a day neither of us are going to forget anytime soon.

To celebrate our engagement, we went on our first vacation together to Key West and Disney World! We pet many-toed cats, lounged on the beach, and built lightsabers & droids.
