Our story started on a fall night in 2017. Both Tarak and Julia were out at a rooftop bar in Washington DC. Tarak was suddenly taken by Julia's beauty and he knew he had to meet her. He told a few jokes, talked about his family, and the future purchase of an accent chair, and Julia was smitten. After a few drinks and some good laughs, they went for pizza. He then asked for her number before they parted and the rest is history.

Tarak's opening line was "What are you celebrating tonight?" Little did they know one day she would answer with "our wedding!"

After many dates and weeks of courting, Julia and Tarak decided it was time to put things to the test and go on their first trip. Julia had a friend in Charlotte, North Carolina, so they booked a hotel and ventured on their first road trip. They compromised on their interests by making time for both a play and a Hornets basketball game. The weekend was such fun that they decided to go big after that. With their shared love of travel and amazing friends to go with them, they went to Breckenridge, Poconos, Portugal, Ireland, England and tried to squeeze in Peru but in March of 2020 COVID said "not so fast". Even after Julia went down to Atlanta for school, they still made time for adventures together.

On April 8, 2021 while on spring break in St. Thomas, Tarak and Julia went for a walk on the beach. After few minutes of quiet peaceful walking Tarak asked a kind beach goer to "take a picture of us". He secretly turned on the video and got down on one knee. As the kind beach goer shouted in excitement, Julia couldn't believe her eyes and said "OH WOWWWW" and eventually "YES".
