Thompson Island Transportation

SATURDAY 9/28

Ferry to Thompson Island:

The ferry boards at 2:30pm from Long Wharf, and departs at 2:45pm sharp. No need to purchase tickets! Cash bar on board.


Please don't be late! If you miss the ferry, walk to Rowes Wharf (8-minute walk), and call the Boston Water Taxi service ($649.00 to charter a taxi...). 617-261-6620; 60 Rowes Wharf, Boston, MA 02110


Please come on the ferry dressed for the wedding! Anyone that needs to change right before hand can use the Marriott Hotel (Long Wharf) bathrooms (2nd floor turn left top of escalator).


If you are staying overnight, Thompson Island staff will meet you as you get off the boat and take your belongings to your room for you. See Thompson Island Overnight section for more information.


Return Ferry to Boston:

-- 8:30pm: Early ferry to EDIC Pier**

-- 10:00pm: End-of-wedding ferry to Long Wharf


**Please note, the early 8:30pm ferry departure will not be formally announced at the wedding. If you're fairly certain you'd like to take this ferry back, please let us know in advance! EDIC Pier is about a 15- minute drive to the Long Wharf area.


SUNDAY 9/29

-- 10:30am: Post-brunch ferry to EDIC Pier Guests staying over on Thompson Island will depart Sunday morning at 10:30am and arrive to EDIC Pier around 11:00am.


It's about a 30-minute ride on the Silver Line to the airport.

Are kids welcome?

Though we'd love to see your children, we have decided to have an adults-only affair. We hope that you'll still be able to join us!


Anyone with under 2-year-olds who is having trouble finding childcare for your little ones, please let us know!

Attire (What does "Island Cocktail Chic" mean?)

Cocktail, but feel free to wear fun prints and colors!


All wedding events will be at least partially outdoors or open-air. Our wedding ceremony is outdoors and our reception is in a covered, open-pavilion.


The ceremony will be on grass and there is a short walk along a dirt path from the ferry to the ceremony/reception area. We will also have golf carts available if needed!

Tell me about the food!

There will be an open bar. The dinner at our reception will be buffet-style, there's no need to select a meal. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions.
