Please read through these FAQs VERY carefully!! Thank you!

Where is the wedding?

The wedding is being held at Sites Farm in Athens, Maine. We acknowledge that this is far away, but have sent out save the dates with more than enough time to prepare. There is lodging available in the area and we have a tab on this website with that information. The drive from Rhode Island and Massachusetts is approximately 4-5 hours. Please plan accordingly!

Is the venue accessible?

Our ceremony is held outside in a grass field. The grass is fairly short and not too far from the parking lot (roughly 300ft walk from the parking lot.) The reception barn is entirely accessible, not far from the ceremony space, and even has an accessible bathroom! **Please note that access to the barn will not be open until AFTER the ceremony. We request that you plan accordingly!**

Where are the bathrooms located?

There are 3 total bathrooms located inside the barn. 2 are traditional size and one is a larger accessible bathroom. **Please note that access to the barn will not be open until AFTER the ceremony. We request that you plan accordingly!**

What about rain?

In the event of rain in the forecast, the ceremony will be held inside the barn!

What is the attire preference?

We request semi-formal attire. Anywhere from UNRIPPED jeans and a button-down shirt to a suit or a nice dress is most appreciated. Nothing overly revealing or offensive. Also, our ceremony will be held outside at a farm in a GRASS field. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing with this in mind. We recommend flat shoes, NO heels, and possibly a jacket depending on the forecast. We also request that you please refrain from wearing Mustard Yellow or Navy Blue

Can I bring a plus one?

We cannot accommodate everyone with a guest and our venue has limited space. The names of those invited will be very clearly marked on your invitation and listed on our RSVP tab. Please do not bring anybody that is not listed on the invitation. They have not been counted on RSVPs, will not have a seat, and will not be counted when submitting food orders. Thank you.

Are children invited?

We understand that Maine is far to travel, especially for our guests with children. We love your children, however, we strongly request that children under the age of 16 be kept at home due to the nature of the event and limited space. We will not be censoring music, ourselves, or our guests. **We have an exception for the wedding party and infants, especially breastfeeding. Reach out to Zach or Julie personally with further questions about this topic. Thank you.

Will we be serving alcohol?

No. Enjoy a night of clarity and fun Mocktails instead! We have an amazing bartender who will be serving our signature Mocktails as well as soda and water. **THIS DOES NOT MEAN BYOB!! OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE! BE RESPECTFUL!!**

Is smoking allowed on the property?

We would prefer if smoking did not happen on the property. However, CIGARETTE-ONLY smoking is allowed and needs to be kept in areas with gravel. Butts need to be disposed of in designated receptacles. Any other smoking of any kind will NOT be allowed anywhere on the property!! Please NO vaping inside the barn!! **ANY LITTERING OF BUTTS WILL BE REPORTED TO US AND WILL BE FINED. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE!! BE RESPECTFUL!!**

A Note From our Venue Owner

Welcome Guests! Here are a few tips to make your experience at Sites Farm more enjoyable. Remember, we are a rustic wedding venue. Ceremonies are typically outside, on the lawn. It is a 300 ft walk to the ceremony location from the parking lot. You may be walking on damp grass, therefore, appropriate footwear is advised (flats are easier for ladies, rather than heels). For late September weddings, guests will want to dress appropriately. We do have limited heat, however, the building isn’t insulated. This means dress warmly ladies. Perhaps skip the strapless dress? Smoking is allowed outside of the building, in designated smoking areas. We ask that all smokers please extinguish all butts in designated receptacles. If there is a light rain, the wedding will be held outside, under a tent. However, you will want to bring an umbrella for the walk to the ceremony locations. For events with heavy rains, ceremonies will be held in the reception hall. Please leave dogs at home. Thank you.
