Hi, my name is Sarah! Julie is my best friend and we have been inseparable since we met 7 years ago ❤️. Julie and I instantly connected during our first year at Western University and I will be forever grateful that we were both placed on the same floor in residence. We have had countless memories over the years between bonding over our shared experiences (if you know you know), surviving Astronomy classes together, to all of our bed chats in first year, parties and getting ready together, shopping, bingeing tv shows/movies and more, I will always cherish my friendship with Julie and am so happy for her!
I first met Travis shortly after their first date and instantly knew he was a great guy. Travis is a burst of energy and always so fun to be around and I think the two of their personalities really complement each other. Travis moved into our university house for a little bit during Covid and I had the best time with Julie and Travis in our little social bubble, especially our 4am Catan nights. After graduating, I was even able to live downtown not far from Julie and Travis for a little under a year!
I will forever be grateful that I met Julie as she is my best friend, but more like the sister I never had. I know I can tell her anything and always count on her. I am so happy to be a part of this wedding and see these two amazing people come together as one happy couple! I love you Julie! ❤️
Dana Bradley - Bridesmaid
My names Dana, Julie’s cousin! Julie and I are more like siblings growing up only a few years apart. The countless memories I hold close to my heart of me and Julie growing up together are endless. A few of my favourites are sleepovers (which if you know Julie as a kid she hated lol), cottage trips, concerts, working together at Glen Abbey, and our yearly annual girls buffalo trip! It has been nothing short of an honour to watch Julie and Travis grow together into the beautiful couple they are today. I can’t wait for the big day!
Elizabeth Bassett - Bridesmaid
I’ve known Julie since the beginning of elementary school and we became good friends in Grade 5. We shared similar interests and created a lot of fun memories right away! I still remember the first time I went over to her house where her mom made us grilled cheese - a classic! We also went to Niagara with her parents shortly after, and had a blast on Clifton hill! One of my favourite memories of our friendship will always be organizing our rooms, closets, drawers, and school calendars for HOURS in our free time (multiple times per month). We clearly had a passion for organizing 😂. I am so grateful for many other adventures with Julie such as going to our cottages, finding ways to eat endless snacks, going to high school parties, and visiting each other at university, which is also how I met Travis! I am so excited to celebrate Julie and Travis on their special day and look forward to many more memories in the future!
Valene McRae - Bridesmaid
Hello, my name is Val! I am the sister of the groom and the soon to be sister to Julie. I met Julie while her and travis were attending Western University in London. Travis brought her to our house to meet her, and we all had a nice campfire in our backyard. Over the years, we have made some amazing memories and connections together. We love her so much. A sister I never had ❤️. Even though we live so far apart we never miss a beat when we see each other. We have enjoyed so many weekends having fun adventures. From on top of Toronto's skyline to Jamaican beaches where I was in on the surprise engagement 😁🤗 We soak up the good times together, like partners in crime! I am so excited to have you as my brothers wife and my sister ❤️.
Carly Terry - Bridesmaid
Julie and I met through our lovely partners Travis and Nicholas and we have had many adventures together since! I have so many great memories with the two of them from nights out to cottage trips to watching them get engaged on the beach in Jamaica! I can’t wait to celebrate this amazing couple.
Nick Terry - Best Man
Travis and I first became friends when we co-chaired a KMUN conference on Gun Rights/Gun Control. Since then, we’ve spent many a weekend floating in lakes drinking beer, afternoons playing competitive Catan, evenings at Barney’s or Chuck’s, and mornings-after eating way too many peanut butter pretzels. Travis and I have also won every single euchre tournament we have entered into, so on the big day if you have a deck of cards…
As someone who has known Julie almost as long as Travis (Date #3 was a double date), I am very excited to witness their wedding. Seeing them grow together and their bond strengthen has been a fantastic experience, and can’t wait to celebrate this special couple!
Joshua McLellan - Groomsman
Josh and Travis have been through it all—whether it’s dominating in video game tournaments or crushing schooners at the beer pong table, they've faced many a battle together. The duo has taken on (and been defeated by) gravity more than once, including the legendary Great Poutine Incident of 2018—a night that will live in infamy. They even played a role in rigging democracy (#VoteForHadia). If you ever need someone to conquer schooners or elections, Josh is your guy.
Samuel Dmitruk-Cook - Groomsman
Hello. My name is Sam Dmitruk, and I’m one of Travis’s closest friends. I first met Travis in the fall of 2016 while working at a Bell dealer in London, Ontario. At that time, I was struggling to cope with the loss of my father to cancer. Although he was unaware of it then, Travis's friendship was a beacon of light in my darkest days, offering me comfort and support for which I will forever be grateful. Our friendship grew organically, with shared experiences like locking ourselves in our manager’s office with a giant plate of cookies and playing practical jokes on our coworkers. These moments, filled with laughter and camaraderie, are some of the fondest memories I have. Humour became one of our Core Values. While we may have stopped selling cell phones, we have always been connected. Travis is one of my closest friends, and I honestly don’t know where I’d be without him. He was one of the best men at my wedding and has supported me time and time again. I can vividly recall the day he first met my wife. I was sheepish and nervous, wanting his opinion. He gave his seal of approval and, as a result, proceeded to give my wife free legal advice at all hours of the night. The roles were reversed a few years later when I met Julie. I vividly remember watching the movie Parasite with her and Travis. She politely listened to all my odd jokes, a skill requiring immense patience. I had a good feeling about her and knew then that if she could handle me, she could always love and support Travis and his eccentricities. I am honoured and humbled that they have asked me to share this special day with them, and I am filled with joy at the thought of celebrating this special couple.
Matt Smit - Groomsman
Travis and I met about 13 years ago in high school. It started out us going to restaurants and playing video games and it never stopped since. We got really close when we were roommates in 2021 and it was one of the best times for me when I look back and remember the memories us laughing, hanging out a ton and just generally having a great time. It was also the time I noticed that when Julie would visit, they would bounce off each other with so much energy and be so happy to be spending time together from their busy lives. I was able to really feel that energy when that one time we all got COVID and had to spend Christmas together, and of course we all had different places to be, but Julie and Travis still made it a warm experience and an awesome day to remember. I wish you both nothing but the best and I am excited to be a part of their special day.
