We were casual acquaintances throughout our time as undergrads at UCF. After graduation, Juliet stayed in Orlando working as a full time nurse, but eventually accepted a new position at Baptist Health in Miami. Matt had moved back home to South Florida to pursue full time work in the forestry field and eventually landed a job in Miami around the same time. Matt had been hanging around the condo that Juliet had leased a room in through a mutual friend. He was really taken back by Juliet's work ethic, intelligence, and of course her warm smile and laughter. We celebrated her 25th birthday on a quintessential September weekend in Florida (i.e. stiflingly humid and sunny) and after a rendezvous in an inflatable kiddie pool, Matt slipped his phone number into the book Juliet was reading at the time. Needless to say, Matt got a text message the next day. One global pandemic, two apartments, two new jobs, one hurricane, three presidents, and countless breakfasts later here we are!
