We first crossed paths at our first jobs in Colorado towards the end of 2018. It was a time when our days were filled with HR training and not much else. Our “office” was a temporary space resembling a small classroom with a few offices. Blake had started the job first and was already settled in one of the rooms. Kace was placed in the same room, which meant we were basically put away together for eight hours

a day. This was the perfect setup for a budding romance.

Initially, we kept things professional. But soon, our games of hangman turned into endless hours of flirting, and minimal work was getting done. One thing led to another, and we found ourselves on our first date at a Mexican restaurant near the office. A couple of margaritas on National Margarita Day turned into hours of conversation until we blinked, and the place was closing down. We walked outside to a

Colorado blizzard, dusted each other’s cars off, and made sure Kace could get out of the lot. That night marked the beginning of something special.

As the training phase at work ended, we became endlessly busy but always found time for a quick game of hangman or a ping-pong match. We soon realized we were falling head over heels for each other. Of course, there was a period when things were hot and cold. Blake’s desire for “alone time with his dogs in the mountains” contributed to that.

Just when it seemed like that was the end, Kace left a note on Blake’s apartment door (IYKYK) that essentially said, “figure it out.” And wouldn't you know, Blake figured it out. From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable and the rest, as they say, is history.
