We met at the beginning of our Sophomore years at K-State in the Fall of 2012. There is some disagreement about when we first met. Landon claims it was at a cookout, yet Kadi claims it was in Statistics class. We naturally spent lots of time together because we were both studying Industrial Engineering and were involved in a campus ministry, Ichthus.

During their first season of friendship, Landon had a crush on Kadi yet never acted on it. His feelings slowly moved to mere friendship. All the while, Kadi was not interested in Landon. Their relationship continued to grow as they took more classes together.

During the next season of our friendship our house churches combined. We led a house church together junior year, promising church leadership that we were NOT interested in each other and therefore would not date. In Landon's mind, this meant that dating wasn't an option. Through all the time spent together, Kadi gradually started liking Landon and his unintentional, flirtatious demeanor made her think he liked her as well.

The next semester their friendship started out awkward but slowly began to go back to normal. Landon slowly began to like Kadi, and Kadi, despite trying to fight it, still liked Landon. At the end of the semester he confessed his feelings for her convinced she would deny him but she didn't. A few days later they went on their first date which was just the beginning to their happily ever after.

On October 24th, 2014 Landon asked Kadi to marry her.

They went on a double date with their friends Laura and Taylor. They convinced Kadi that after dinner they would be going to the beach (one of their favorite secret hangout spots) for Taylor's birthday. Towards the end of dinner, Laura received a fake text saying that they needed to pick up some friends so they would meet us out at the beach. They left dinner and headed out to the beach, Kadi was clueless what was waiting for her.

Once they parked, they began a 10-minute walk down the trail leading to the beach. Halfway through the walk, with help of family and friends, the path was candlelit (it was dark by this time). At the beginning of the candlelit path was an empty scrapbook titled 'Landon and Kadi's Love Story'. Along the path were several stops with chapters building their story in a scrapbook/storybook fashion. At each stop, they read the next chapter and inserted it into the storybook. The path led to the beach where the final chapter was found. Moments later, there on the beach, Landon asked Kadi to marry her. She said 'ABSOLUTELY!!'

Both families emerged from the dark and celebrated together. They returned to Kadi's house for a party with their friends.
