Summer 2023 • Snowshoe, WV

What should I wear?

The dress code for our wedding will be "Mountain Chic." Popular term in the Rockies, used to describe an stylish event that is in the mountains, and most likely the ceremony is on the grass. Dress appropriately for the mountain climate while still staying stylish. Ladies will feel comfortable in a short/long dress, or pantsuit. Men will be comfortable in khaki's or dress pants, with a polo or button up shirt. Be sure to pack a jacket, Snowshoe's weather is very unpredictable, although the reception is indoors the ceremony is outdoors so dress accordingly!

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

The ceremony will be taking place on the Mountain Lawn right by the ski lift that goes down to the lake. The reception will be taking place in The Cellar that is just steps away from the lawn! If you don't know where the Mountain Lawn is located you can GPS yourself to The Mountain Lodge, and it is the lawn right out from the hotel!

Where is the after party?

We invite you to join us for the after party that will be held at The Locker Room Sports Bar. The Bar is just a short 3 miles from our reception.

Are my kids invited to the wedding?

We love your children, but due to space restrictions, and safety concerns we cannot accommodate babies, toddlers or children under the age of 10 at our wedding. We appreciate your understanding as our venue is not fit for those under 10 years old, and we value the safety of your little ones, especially with it being the start of flu and RSV season. Parents deserve a night off every now and then, what a more perfect night to do that than our wedding! We will also be having an open bar, loud music, and lots of dancing, which I'm sure your little ones would be sensitive to. Any questions, concerns or recommendations for babysitters please feel free to reach out!

Can I bring a date?

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only, as our venue has strict accommodations. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your RSVP, and have notified you with how many seats we have reserved in your name. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

We would recommend you arrive 30 minutes early, even sooner if you plan to check into your hotel beforehand. For anyone who hasn't ever been to Snowshoe the roads are extremely curvy, and you almost always get stuck behind logging trucks or other slow vehicles that delay your arrival time. There is shopping, Starbucks, bars and restaurants all located just a few feet from our ceremony site, so if you do get there a bit early you won't be bored! Be sure to plan accordingly! As we don't want to keep you waiting our wedding will star promptly at 4:oopm!

What would you recommend for travel plans?

We recommend coming and staying the whole weekend, but if not we do highly recommend staying Saturday night! Our reception will have food, drinks, and a DJ, and formalities won't be over until at least after dark. For those who haven't been to Snowshoe before, it is on top of a mountain with very curvy roads with little to no service beginning an hour out from it! Snowshoe is absolutely breath taking, many would say it's one of the prettiest views you could get in WV, or even the East Coast! Snowshoe is also not shy of things to do (be sure to check out that tab for recommendations)! Use this as an excuse for a fun weekend getaway, you will most likely see the wedding party and family members around Snowshoe for the weekend!

Where should I stay?

While Snowshoe has many different hotels and condos, we do have a wedding block with a discount code for Allegheny Springs hotel, be sure to go to the Lodging & Travel tab on our wedding website to find out how to book our room block!

What should I do if I cant make it?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know and RSVP “no,” as soon as possible, so we can plan accordingly. If we have no response received on your RSVP by August 13th we will be sad about your "regretfully decline" response, as we have to have exact numbers for our wonderful vendors by that date.

Where should I park?

If you have booked through either our room block or through a different hotel, parking will be made available through your hotel. Allegany Springs is walking distance to our venue, but be sure to check if you booked through someone else. Snowshoe runs shuttles everyday through 11pm, so there should be no problem catching a ride from a different hotel! If you just come for the evening their is a huge parking lot across from Allegany Springs that you can park in for the evening, and a very close walk to the venue. Just put Allegany Springs in your GPS and you will see it!

What are the directions to Snowshoe?

Be sure to check under the Lodging & Travel Tab at the top! Snowshoe is smack in the middle of the 13,000 square-mile National Radio Quiet Zone (NRQZ), they do have wifi in places once you get to the top of the mountain. However, be sure to put Snowshoe into your GPS far in advance, Pocahontas County doesn't have very good service, most places none at all! There is one way onto the mountain and one way out, so have your GPS ready in advance!
