What to wear!

We’ll be celebrating with an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor/outdoor reception featuring yard games, light refreshments, and an iced coffee bar. For attire, think of a relaxed, springtime look: something you might wear to church on a beautiful spring day. Sundresses, skirts, button-downs, or polos are all great options. The goal is comfortable, polished, and seasonally appropriate!

Dress Code

Hannah has been my built-in bestie since day one. She’s the sister I’ve admired, learned from, and—let’s be honest—argued with more times than I can count😂 But no matter what, she’s always been there: my biggest cheerleader, the voice of reason (most of the time), and the one who just gets me. Having her as my matron of honor feels so right, because she’s been standing by my side my whole life—now she’ll just be doing it in a pretty dress!

One of the best moments at Virginia Tech was meeting and getting to know Jacob at Tech's RUF hoedown event. We bonded quickly over the fact that we both were wearing jorts and that I was in a spiderman suit. From then on, it's been nothing but laughter, joy, and fun with this brother! He's been extremely reliable and someone who knows how to cheer me up especially in seasons of hardships. Truly grateful to have you by my side my twin brother from another mother!

Jacob Wheeler

Sage is basically my sister! Even though we aren’t related by blood, our bond runs just as deep. Growing up as next-door neighbors, we were inseparable... from backyard adventures to late-night talks, she’s been a part of almost every chapter of my life (even the scary nosebleeds😂). Sage has always been someone I can count on for laughter, love, and unwavering support. I’m beyond grateful to have her by my side as my maid of honor, continuing a lifelong friendship that feels more like family!

Sage Mayhew

We met in third grade and bonded quickly over video games that we played on bus rides. We were the closest of buds until we unfortunately split ways due to going to different high schools. Praise the Lord that we were able to reconnect at Virginia Tech! Thank you for being the constant and dependable friend and brother that you are! Truly grateful to have you by my side and to have reconnected with you!

Maddy is my sister from another mister! Since our parents were best friends, we didn’t really have a choice but to become best buds ourselves (and I’m so glad we did). From playdates to late-night talks, she’s been there through it all, always bringing love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos in the best way. I’m so grateful for her friendship and so excited to have her standing beside me on my big day!

Another one of my dearest brothers from Virginia Tech! You made Tech such a wonderful, fun, and safe environment to be in! I love the times we had together in one on one settings and how you have been such a great individual to keep me accountable in my walk of faith. Truly grateful to have you by my side brother!

Hayden Craun

Regan and I kind of became friends by accident — and then she promptly moved across the country😭 But even from miles away, she’s remained one of my closest friends. Our weekly calls always turn into heart-to-hearts, and I’m constantly reminded how lucky I am to have someone like her in my life. I’m so excited to finally have her here in person (I figured my wedding would be a good way to get her to come visit me LOL)

What a good brother I have found during my Virginia Tech years! I grew so close to you, and you were one of the closest friends I had during my time at Virginia Tech. Being with you during worship at RUF and church was always a blessing! You have been an inspiration and constant support system of mine when it comes down to all aspects of life, and especially at the gym! I'm honored to have you by my side and grateful to have you as a brother.

Evie is the friend I know I can call for anything: advice, a laugh, or just a good chat. She’s one of the kindest, most genuine people I know, and I’m so thankful for her constant love and support. I’m beyond pumped to have her standing beside me as we celebrate this special day!

The squat goat! The first time we met was at Virginia Tech's gym and you were extremely kind and supportive in my short lived powerlifting journey with all the injuries I sustained hahaha. But man, you've been such a joy to see grow in the gym and even more so in the faith! I'm forever honored and blessed to be able to have you by my side!

Abby is my missions-minded, Jesus-loving, spontaneous bestie! She’s one of the most passionate and encouraging people I know, and her heart for the Lord inspires me daily. I’m always in awe of the way she shines for Jesus and loves others so deeply. I’m so thankful for her friendship and can’t wait to have her by my side as we celebrate this special day!

I believe the first time we met was because of John and how we all started Bible studies in a mall setting! It's been such a joy alongside of John to see your walk of faith mature and grow! Lily has always been like a big sister to me. Growing up as next-door neighbors, she’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the past few years, we’ve grown even closer, through working together, sharing memories, and just doing life side by side. If you’re coming into town for the weekend, we’d love for you to soak in some of the charm and beauty that Bedford has to offer. It’s a cozy little town with stunning mountain views, history, and some seriously cute spots to explore. Stroll Through Downtown Bedford Take a walk through Historic Centertown—it’s got small-town charm with locally-owned shops and sweet spots to pop into.• You’ll find antique stores, local art galleries, and little boutiques tucked into old brick buildings.• Grab a coffee, wander a bit, and see what treasures you stumble across.• Don’t miss the Bedford Farmers Market if you’re around on a Saturday morning (it’s seasonal but full of charm when open!). Favorite Coffee Stops • Kinship Roasters - Kinship is my favorite coffee shop, and one I used to work at! I love the environment there, and highly recommend! Amazing coffee and atmosphere!• Bridge Street Café – A cozy little café perfect for sitting down and enjoying a slow morning. Great coffee, breakfast bites, and friendly vibes.• Joe Beans – If you’re on the go and need a quick caffeine fix, this drive-thru spot is super convenient (and their iced coffee hits the spot). Hike Sharp Top Mountain If you’re up for a little adventure, Sharp Top is one of our favorite hikes in the area. It’s part of the Peaks of Otter and has some of the most incredible 360° views from the summit. It’s a bit of a workout (around 3 miles round trip), but totally worth it. Bring water, snacks, and good shoes—it’s rocky, but gorgeous! Thunder Ridge Overlook Thunder Ridge is a staple place that Jacob and I visit when in town! Super beautiful overlook and perfect for picnic and sunsets! Visit the National D-Day Memorial Bedford has a powerful connection to D-Day history, and the memorial here is a beautiful and moving tribute. If you have time, it’s absolutely worth the visit. Even just walking through the grounds gives you a deep sense of the story this town carries. Explore Smith Mountain Lake About 30 minutes outside of town, Smith Mountain Lake is a great spot to relax if you’re staying a few extra days. You can rent a kayak, dip your toes in the water, or just take in the view. Local Bites + Sips While Bedford is small, there are a few gems when it comes to food and drinks.• Liberty Station is a wonderful restaurant and a must-have in Bedford! This beautiful restaurant in an old train station is a perfect spot for a nice dinner!• Town Kitchen &amp; Provisions is a must go if you're looking for some good bites.• If you’re into wine, Peaks of Otter Winery is quirky and full of charm (plus: mountain views and fruit wine tastings!).

Things to Do in Bedford, VA and surrounding areas!

Jacob and I met online, after I had deleted the dating app but a couple of my friends wanted me to redownload it for "fun". Jacob was the first guy that came up, and his first message to me wasn't "hey, how are you?" No, it was "Who is Jesus to you and how is He a part of your life now?" There was something different about this cute guy on my phone screen. His love and passion for Jesus was very evident, even from the first words he spoke to me. As we had several facetime calls before meeting in person, I knew that I was going to marry Jacob. Our first date was by far the best first date I had ever been on, even so much fun that we decided to go bowling after dinner to keep the night going before Jacob's drive back home (to which I doubled his score and crushed him the first game... and now I'm a bowling gal😅). From then on, the rest is history. Jacob and I have definitely had our share of ups and downs, but through it all we have grown closer to each other and most importantly closer to the Lord! I am so thankful the Lord has brought us together, and I am extremely excited for the life we are going to build together, with the ultimate goal of glorifying the Lord through it all!
