Our Story

According to Kailey...

I've known Caleb since junior high, but we got to know each other our sophomore year of high school. We were in the same English class and eventually in the same group project. The jellyfish group. He was such a goof, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't develop a tiny crush.

Come senior year I was devastated to learn that I was going to be sharing a class with my crush. It didn't help that he enjoyed pestering the ever loving heck out of me. He'd try to talk to me during lessons, steal my coffee, and hide my keys. Truly a bad influence, but one that I would have never admitted that I enjoyed.

Years passed and we both grew up. We dated right after I came back from college but well, that didn't work out, but a year passed and we reconnected through our best man who was insistent on getting us back together. It started out small. Coffee dates in the mornings before work, late night talks sitting beneath the stars. It was the kind of falling in love you see in movies. I had sworn to myself that I wouldn't give him a second chance, but God am I grateful I did.

It didn't take long for us both to know that we wanted this to last forever. If you know Caleb you know how much joy he can bring to those he loves, and I've been so lucky to experience that love.

All of that to say; I am a very lucky woman to have found the man I love, and to have had him at my side through any challenges I've faced. Soon enough, I'll be very lucky to call him my husband.

According to Caleb...

When Kailey and I first met we were mutual friends in the 6th grade. Now at that age no one is thinking that far ahead, but she definitely had my attention every time I saw her in passing. She was quiet but interesting. Someone I wanted to be around. I remember going to fish camp and seeing her in the halls and the first thing she said to me was "Dang you got tall." At the time all I could think was dang you got short.

We didn't have any classes together until sophomore year English class. The jellyfish gang. We had our laughs and talked about books she wasn't supposed to read, but did anyways. I thought it was cute to see what she considered rebellious. Fast forward to senior year where we had aquatic science together, and here is when I the flirt that I am shows his face. I would steal her car keys, pester her to no end, drink her coffee she brought everyday, and make promises to make up for it by taking her out to get a cup of coffee sometime but would chicken out.

Now we're in college texting each other and getting to know each other better than ever. I'm learning more about her and who she wanted to be. We dated when she came back home from college, but we ended things only after a month. I take the blame for failing there, but in that time apart it gave me time to grow.

Here we are, we ended up seeing one another again through mutual friends and reconnected. We would spend nights together at a park just talking and catching up, falling in love. I was able to make good on my promise and take her for that cup of coffee after all. From then on we grew together and fell deeper in love till we knew we never wanted to be apart.

She makes me the best version of myself that I can be and I am proud to be her man.
