Resort & Travel

All-Inclusive Resort

Our wedding will be hosted at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas.

We request that all guests plan to stay on property at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach - guests who stay elsewhere will be requested to reimburse the outside guest fees of approximately $320/person for all wedding weekend events. See Q + A page for additional information.

We have reserved a room block for our guests with all-inclusive refundable rates, as well as special nightly flat rates for children ages 5-11 or 12-17 regardless of room type. There is no charge for children 4 and under.

Wedding weekend activities will take place over 3 nights from Thursday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 25th, with checkout on Sunday, October 26th. However, if you'd like to extend your stay, these rates will be honored from October 18th to October 31st. Ian and Kaitlyn will be arriving the 22nd and plan to remain in Cabo until the 29th.

We kindly ask that all guests book their rooms as early as possible so that we can estimate if additional rooms need to be added to the room block - the cut off for booking rooms is June 23, 2025.

At the time of booking the resort will only charge one night's stay as a deposit, which is fully refundable if the reservation is cancelled up to 21 days prior to arrival. If cancelled after that time (0-20 days), the deposit is not refunded.

* Room rates are quoted in U.S. dollars, per room, per night in All Inclusive Program based on the number of adults per room (single, double, etc.). All taxes and services included except environmental tax to be paid at check in (approx. $2.50 usd per room per night).

* For the Junior Suite, the maximum number of people per room is 2 adults and 2 children. For Executive and Super Executive Suite, up to 6 people (4 adults, 2 children).

Flights

We suggest arriving on Thursday, October 23rd and departing on Sunday, October 26th - unless you are planning to extend your stay beyond our wedding weekend events. The airport closest to our resort is San José del Cabo International Airport (also referred to as Los Cabos or airport code SJD).

From the San Diego area, the best option for a direct flight is Alaska Airlines or Southwest Airlines (newly added route). If you have the Alaska credit card consider whether you have a companion fare available. We recommend the earliest possible opportunity to book your flights as the prices can increase substantially if booked closer to your travel dates.

American Airlines and others also offer flights from San Diego to Cabo with a connection (typically through Phoenix).

Another direct option is to fly from Tijuana through the Cross Border Express (CBX) on Volaris Airlines - if opting for this airline, we recommend booking one person in your party on a higher class of service that includes a carry on and a checked bag and then booking all remaining tickets on the least expensive fare, as the add-on fees for luggage can add up. Ensure you book your departure airport as "San Diego (CBX via Tijuana)" rather than "Tijuana" as this includes your crossing through the CBX from the US side of the border. The itinerary will appear as through you have a connection, however that "stop" is your crossing through CBX.

From outside the San Diego area, there are several airlines that serve the San Jose del Cabo airport such as Alaska, Southwest, American, Delta, United, and AeroMexico.

We do not recommend booking a hotel + flight package through the resort. Please book directly with the airline of your choice.

Airport Transfers

We will collect flight information from guests closer to our wedding date and assist with coordinating group transportation from the airport to the resort on Thursday, October 23rd and return transportation to the airport on Sunday, October 26th. Estimated cost per person for roundtrip transportation is $50, however this may vary depending upon the size of each group that can be arranged and will be confirmed prior to your travel dates.

If you are arriving on a day other than Thursday, October 23th or departing on a different day than Sunday, October 26th, we can still assist with booking either shuttle or private transportation to and from the airport at a discounted rate (est. appx. $50 per person roundtrip, depending on group size).

Travel to Mexico

Passport & Travel Requirements

To enter Mexico, you must have a valid passport that is valid for the duration of your trip - however, a good rule of thumb for international travel is to ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival.

Please check that you have a valid passport as soon as possible - current passport processing times are 4-6 weeks for routine service and 2-3 weeks for expedited service, plus transit time.

You do not need a visa to travel to Mexico if you have a US, UK, or other commonwealth country passport. You will need an FMM or tourist permit, which is a form generally completed on your flight or upon arrival. For a stay of 7 days or less, the FMM is free to obtain. You can also opt for an FMM that is valid for up to 180 days at a cost of roughly $35-45. Many airlines include this fee in your ticket cost already regardless of length of trip, but if not, it is payable when obtaining your FMM upon arrival. The FMM is also available when crossing through the Cross Border Express if you fly through Tijuana.

Is Cabo safe?

Yes!

The US Department of State monitors the safety of US citizens travelling abroad and has 4 tiers of safety classification: exercise normal precautions, exercise increased caution, reconsider travel, and do not travel. The Mexican state of Baja California Sur (in which Cabo is located) is rated as "exercise increased caution" with no restrictions to travel. On top of that, the specific area of Cabo San Lucas is considered very safe for tourists (especially in popular resort areas) and millions of American tourists visit each year.

Travelers should still exercise reasonable caution and take basic safety measures as they would when visiting any unfamiliar destination - stay in well-lit areas, avoid unmarked taxis, and be aware of their surroundings.

If you're nervous about travelling to Mexico, give Ian or Kaitlyn a call and we're happy to address any concerns or questions.
