. . . when Mike Maddigan, Kevin Duff, and then Julie Tomaino started their freshman year at Georgetown. Mike and Julie met in their freshman dorm, New South. Later, Julie met Kevin and they began their love story. Julie introduced Kevin to Mike and they all became lifelong friends.

Fast forward to 2011: their families would meet for the first time in Laguna Beach, CA when the Duffs were on family vacation. This is where Thomas and Kaitlyn met for the very first time. She was 12 and he was 14! They didn't talk much, but Thomas claims he thought Kaitlyn was cute! (She's skeptical. ;))

In 2016, Kaitlyn was on a college tour with her high school and she made sure to see Thomas at Boston College, even if it was only for a picture.

In 2019, Kaitlyn went to visit her friend Pia at Boston College. Thomas saw on Snapchat that Kaitlyn was at BC and Snapchat messaged her that they should meet for coffee! They met up and walked to Dunkin Donuts, and walked and talked around BC for three hours! They also met up the next day before Kaitlyn left to go back home.

After that trip, Kaitlyn and Thomas stayed very closely in touch for the next year, texting, Snapchatting, and FaceTiming. Finally, they decided that they should see where this was going. Kaitlyn took another trip to Boston to visit Thomas in early October 2020. They fell in love that weekend and here we are! :')
