Areen and Kaitlyn met at CSU Northridge in the fall of 2014. Although Areen first noticed Kaitlyn at the orientation, it wasn’t until cinematography class when Areen took the empty seat next to Kaitlyn that they first really talked. The rest of that semester Areen got to class early to make sure he got that seat next to Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn thought Areen was talented and asked him to join her senior thesis directing project All That Glitters as her cinematographer. While working long hours together on the project, what started as a friendship eventually grew into more. They officially started dating in December of 2015 and the rest is history!

In their 7 years as a couple they have enjoyed their shared lives and experiences together. Their absolute favorite thing to do together is travel the world! They took their first international trip together in 2018 to Italy, which holds a special place in their hearts. Since then they have also explored parts of Asia and the Caribbean, and most recently Central and South America as fiancés!

They moved into their first apartment together in the fall of 2019. In 2020 their travel plans were put on hold for a bit, but they thrived together during lockdowns, growing closer than ever. They continue to pick up new hobbies together like skiing, board games, F1, tiki cocktails, and learning Spanish (still works in progress).

In August 2022, Areen proposed to Kaitlyn on one of their favorite hiking trails in LA, on a cliff in Malibu overlooking the beautiful coastline. Kaitlyn, who was caught completely by surprise, of course said yes!

They look forward to celebrating their love and wedding with you all and can’t wait for the next chapter of enjoying and exploring life together as husband and wife.
