$$$ - Barbecue
Kansas City is famous for it’s barbecue. Located in the heart of the Crossroads district downtown, Jack Stack offers classic KC barbecue in an up scale like setting. Fiorella's Jack Stack has been rated as some of the best barbecue in the United States by several national organizations and magazines. Most notably, the Zagat Survey named it the "#1 Barbecue House in the Country."
$$ - Pizza
Rated as Kansas City’s #1 pizza by us, Buffalo State serves massive New York-style pizzas and slices. Not deep dish, Not Cracker crust, not super artisanal, just your honest, old school, “New York Style Pie”. Whether it’s our lunch special for one, or a feast for the family, it accommodates all. This spot is located right in the middle of the crossroads district (only a couple minute walk to the wedding venue).
$$$ - Fine Dining
Oysters in the Mid-West??? Chef Michael Smith honed his skills in Nice, France, and Chicago’s Charlie Trotter’s, among others, before taking the helm at Kansas City’s revered The American Restaurant in 1994 where he was one of the city’s first James Beard Award-winning chefs. Farina is one of his new restaurants on the block that has a full oyster bar and award winning wine list.

$$ - Distillery
Named Tom’s Town Distilling Co. after the country’s most corrupt political boss, Tom Pendergast. Under Tom, Kansas City ignored Prohibition and emerged as the “Paris of the Plains.” Money, jazz, and spirits flowed in the open. When asked how he justified ignoring Prohibition, Pendergast quipped, “The people are thirsty.” Today this distillery not only creates award winning spirts, but they serve up amazing hand crafted cocktails. It’s a must visit.
$$ - Barcade
Kansas City’s first and best Barcade (Arcade Bar). With Over 50 classic arcade games, 60 beers on tap, a full-service bar, and fresh pizza by the slice, Up Down gives you everything you need to fill a day. This Crossroad location also gives you to patios with scenic skyline views and some yard games as well.
$$ - Bar/Bookstore
Simple paper pages can inspire a visit to a city or reconnect someone to a time and place of their past. Books can spark an idea or incite an argument and provide a tranquil escape from the chaotic. Beer, wine, spirits, and food share this quality. Rather than leave one of 'em out we decided to combine their collective powers under a single roof. Afterword has some of the most creative, delicious, well themed drinks in all of Kansas City.
