<p style="text-align: left;">Our wedding ceremony will be at First Apostolic Church of Flomaton on March 7, 2026 at 12 PM. We would like for our guests to dress as elegantly as possible, but we completely understand that not everyone can do more more than Sunday (polo & nice jeans or khakis/maxi dress & nice-casual). Men, if you’re able to wear a button up shirt that would be great but if all you own is a polo then that’s completely fine! There will be NO white dresses other than my own as the bride. I have nothing against women wearing red dresses, but I will inform y’all that red dresses (probably bright red more than anything) is traditionally recognized as the color those who have been in relations with the groom would wear. So, on that note, just have that in mind when choosing what to wear; I don’t mind anyone wearing bright red, but most of us have living grandparents who may have a bit of a problem with this hahah. In addition to attire, please do not wear colors that our wedding party will be wearing as we would like for our close friends to feel special too! The colors are burgundy, gold, navy blue, and white. The wedding parties will be wearing burgundy, navy blue, and gold (or champagne if gold dresses look ugly lol). The wedding will be outside either by the fellowship hall (reception area) or the open lot by the church. The only reason the wedding would be inside would be due to weather changes. Whichever area is NOT used for the ceremony will be overflow for the reception.</p>

Our Wedding

Me and Jordan met our 10th grade year of high school. We had one class together, Geometry with Mr. Shugart. I never talked to anyone in that class; always sitting alone and keeping to myself. One day, Mr. Shugart wanted us to work on an assignment as a group. I remember looking around at everyone grouping up and I was just about to get up to ask Mr. Shugart if I could work alone when Jordan turned around and asked me if I wanted to be in their group. Group projects have ALWAYS made me anxious because I never wanted to ask someone if I could join. I remember thinking he wasn’t talking to me but knowing there wasn’t anyone else he could be talking to. So, I joined his group. He became my friend after that and honestly I started to crush on him; went as far as to pass him a note either asking for his Snapchat or giving him mine (it’s a detail I was bound to forget, don’t judge). When he read the note, he got his little smirk that I now get to see VERY often. I now know it’s the smirk he gets with me when he’s up to something or thinking about it. Guess what! Whatever he was up to or thinking about, never happened! We’d text as friends, but he never actually made a move! Which, if you were ever a teenager with Snapchat, you know that you give it to a guy/girl when you’re interested! He obviously didn’t know I was interested *face palm.* That year, he started dating this girl who I also had a class with, and she was so very sweet. So, I let him go. I would move on. And I did. After 10th grade, we didn’t have any classes together again. We never saw each other, maybe in passing now and then, but I wasn’t paying much attention. Then 11th grade I started like this guy I never should’ve been interested in, he was great friend material but not boyfriend material. Me and this guy would FaceTime often, but very rarely did we talk in school but that was because of me. Now I understand that I shouldn’t have felt anxious to talk to this guy around people we knew. I learned that I should NEVER feel anxious with a man because of Jordan. This guy told me from the start we were only friends, but we ALL know actions speak louder than words and his actions were loud and clear. During this time that I was interested in this boy who shall not be named, Jordan came up to me outside of school one day before classes would start. To this day, I still feel terrible for how I acted with him. I wasn’t outright rude and to many people and even him, it may have seemed like a perfectly normal interaction but I know that it wasn’t. I know that while he talked to me and was just trying to have a nice conversation, I was too busy watching for this other guy when The One was standing directly in front of me talking to me about something I can’t even recall because I was too tunnel visioned to see Jordan, the man who came into my life and patched up every broken piece. Fast forward to the end of junior year and this boy who was a senior at the time does me VERY wrong, and I find out that this girl who just answered my FaceTime call to him is actually his girlfriend. After that, I decided that I wouldn’t go after another boy and I wouldn’t do the whole romance thing for at least a while. Then, a month or two after I’m finally completely over this guy (not the hurt though) Jordan messages me and asks me to homecoming. He didn’t do a big homecoming proposal, which I’m glad about (that’s just awkward for me). He texted me and asked if I wanted to. Then, when I said yes to homecoming he decided to go ahead and ask me to the military ball and prom. I’m really glad he did too because I have learned over the course of our relationship that he is TERRIBLE at giving me detailed information for major events! For about a month we talked often. He started fixing my broken heart before we even made it official. The first memorable thing he did before we became boyfriend and girlfriend was on Railroad Junction Day, which is a big thing in town. The boy from junior year hadn’t shown up for more than a few things when I’d ask him to (i.e. railroad junction day, church Christmas movie, 17th birthday party, etc.). I remember getting a text back from Jordan the day of railroad junction 2023 that he wasn’t sure if he could make it but would try. When I got that text, I decided that he was probably like the boy from before and just wouldn’t show up and probably wouldn’t give a reason why either. Then, a little while later (while I was still disappointed that he wouldn’t come) I got a text that he was on the way. He showed up with his little brother and that was when I knew I wanted to keep him. I wanted to keep him because he TRIED and he MADE IT HAPPEN. He wanted to put in the effort, and he continued to put in the effort. October 7, 2023 Jordan made a sign like you would for a homecoming proposal and asked me to be his girlfriend. Everyday, I’m so glad I moved schools my freshman year. And everyday, I’m so grateful that I messed up with my virtual math class (no one told me how to do virtual when I’d never done it) because I got placed in Geometry class with Jordan. I’ll always be happy that Jordan asked me to every dance and to be his girlfriend. Without him, I don’t even want to imagine where I’d be.
