Our Wedding

Our story goes all the way back to 2011! In spring 2011, Kara was invited to a different high school's prom by her dance team friends but needed a date who went to school there. One of her teammates suggested Josh. So we met for a blind date to JD’s ice cream and the Englewood Dam. We didn't end up going to the dance together, but we became friends. In winter 2012, we went to our first concert together.

In summer 2013, we began officially dating for the first time. We spent the next year in a long distance relationship, as Kara went back to college. Sadly, we parted ways after a year.&nbsp;

***five years later*** In summer 2019, we rekindled our friendship, and Josh visited Kara a few times in Cincinnati.

In summer 2021, we began spending more time together in Kara’s new city, Columbus – from picnics and hikes, to concerts and brewery dates. Then we went on our first trip to Asheville, NC together.&nbsp;

In September 2021, we went to our first camping music festival together, Resonance, in WV. In the middle of the crowd before the headlining act of the festival, Josh asked Kara to be his girlfriend.&nbsp;

In May 2022, we moved into our first place together. Josh officially became a dog dad to Luna!

Since moving in together, our relationship has been full of travels, hikes, brewery dates, and music festivals! Some of our favorite travels were our trips to Asheville, NC, Electric Forest Music Festival in MI, Ember Shores Music Festival in Cancun, Presque Isle in MI, Yellowstone National Park, and The Grand Tetons!

On September 1st 2024, we had just hiked to the top of Black Balsam Knob in Asheville, NC when Josh popped the question!

Kara and Ashley have known each other since the first grade at Northmoor Elementary and have become closer than ever the last few years! Together they share a love of all things music, yoga, and talking for hours! Kara was honored to be Ashley’s maid of honor in 2024 and can’t wait to have Ashley by her side as well!

Lauren and Josh have known each other since birth – Lauren is Josh's twin sister!

Kara and Delaney have been besties ever since the second grade when Kara moved in across the street from Delaney. They were attached at the hip from then on until they graduated high school. Despite living her best life in Hawaii, Delaney always responds to Kara’s randomly timed texts. A true forever friend! 

Delaney Thompson

Kara and Sara met through dance in high school where Sara became the much needed hip-hop to Kara’s ballet. Aside from their bond over dance, Kara has enjoyed having Sara in her life as the little sister she never had. Kara and Sara both went to UC and have remained close ever since! 

Sara Blakley

Kara and Mara met through mutual friends who all attend concerts and music festivals together. They have since expanded their friendship through a shared love for crystals and crafting. 


Mara Ormerod

Kara and Olivia met through mutual festival friends. They continue to bond over sending each other pictures of their outfits before ANY event. They enjoy spending time together whether attending a concert, festival, dinner or girls night in! 

Olivia Ohm

Kara and Kimmy met in their college program at UC DAAP and eventually became roommates. Kara literally could not imagine having graduated college without Kimmy, and is so happy to have Kimmy by her side on her big day.

Please be sure to make your reservation by 30 days before the wedding (September 24th). Check-in time for all rooms is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 pm. Springfield is the nearest town with major hotels to Yellow Springs, and the hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the wedding venue. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in transportation back to the hotel after the wedding!
