Our story goes all the way back to 2011!

In spring 2011, Kara was invited to a different high school's prom by her dance team friends but needed a date who went to school there. One of her teammates suggested Josh. So we met for a blind date to JD’s ice cream and the Englewood Dam.

We didn't end up going to the dance together, but we became friends. In winter 2012, we went to our first concert together.

In summer 2013, we began officially dating for the first time. We spent the next year in a long distance relationship, as Kara went back to college. Sadly, we parted ways after a year.

***five years later***

In summer 2019, we rekindled our friendship, and Josh visited Kara a few times in Cincinnati.

In summer 2021, we began spending more time together in Kara’s new city, Columbus – from picnics and hikes, to concerts and brewery dates. Then we went on our first trip to Asheville, NC together.

In September 2021, we went to our first camping music festival together, Resonance, in WV. In the middle of the crowd before the headlining act of the festival, Josh asked Kara to be his girlfriend.

In May 2022, we moved into our first place together. Josh officially became a dog dad to Luna!

Since moving in together, our relationship has been full of travels, hikes, brewery dates, and music festivals! Some of our favorite travels were our trips to Asheville, NC, Electric Forest Music Festival in MI, Ember Shores Music Festival in Cancun, Presque Isle in MI, Yellowstone National Park, and The Grand Tetons!

On September 1st 2024, we had just hiked to the top of Black Balsam Knob in Asheville, NC when Josh popped the question!
