What Is The Dress Code?

Black Tie Optional. For men, please feel free to wear a tux or black suit, but a dark suit with dress pants would be acceptable too. For woman, please feel free to wear a floor-length dress if you choose or similarly, a midi length cocktail dress would also be appropriate instead.

How Do I RSVP & What is the Deadline?

Due to the international nature of the event, please RSVP on our website no later than December 1st 2023. Please note that if you plan to stay in the room block, your room must be secured by December 15th 2023.

Are Guests Allowed?

We would like to kindly request, that due to the small and intimate nature of our ceremony, please refrain from bringing a guest. We hope you understand.

Are Hotel Rooms Required at The Castle?

No! Please free free to stay anywhere you like! We have other great hotel options listed if you choose to stay off-site. *We would like to request however that you please let us know where you plan to stay if you aren't staying in the room block at Dalhousie. If not staying at the Castle, what part of Edinburgh is best to stay in?

Old Town and the Royal Mile are the best areas to stay in Edinburgh for easy access to sightseeing (especially for first-timers). New Town is great with it's numerous restaurants. This area is an excellent location for shopping and dining out. Old Town is much more historic and has some of the major sights you might want to see. Take a look at our map for a reference of some other hotels we recommend in these areas (linked under "Other Resources")

How Far is Dalhousie From Downtown Edinburgh?

Dalhousie Castle is 8 miles from downtown Edinburgh. The easiest way to get into the city is by taxi or train. The nearest train station, Newtongrange Station, is just 1.7 miles from the castle, with trains running to city centre (Edinburgh Waverley Station) every 30 minutes, with a 22-minute journey time.

How Far Is Dalhousie From the Airport?

Dalhousie Castle is 16 miles from Edinburgh Airport by car, via the City of Edinburgh Bypass/ A720. During peak times it's recommend that you allow up to an hour’s travel to the airport as traffic can be heavy.
