Just around the corner from our apartment in Logan Square, Parson's serves up amazing fried chicken and delicious frozen slushy cocktails in a vibrant atmosphere. After dinner, take a stroll heading north along historic Humboldt Boulevard to see some of Chicago's most beautiful historic homes.
One of the stops on the infamous bar crawl that we met on, and one of our favorite places for great food and beer! We've never had a bad meal here and the beer is so good you'd think it came from Michigan. Afterwards, walk just a few doors down to Emporium, our favorite arcade bar.
For Chicago Deep Dish, we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The signature caramelized crust reminds Karen of Buddy's Pizza in Detroit, and you might actually find more locals than tourists here. The pizza can take a while to bake, so we recommend putting your name and order in and then walking down the street for cocktails at Beck's.
Enjoy a craft cocktail while gazing at panoramic vies of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan on the rooftop of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. Once you've enjoyed the view from up above, take as troll through the park and make sure you stop for photos in front of "The Bean." Head south towards Grant Park and you'll find the infamous Buckingham Fountain.
A new addition to Fulton Market District that is a must do for any beer lover. Great beer on draft and views of the city for days from the rooftop patio.
The architectural river cruise is one of our favorite ways of showing off our beautiful home. Learn about the architectural history of some of Chicago's iconic buildings as well as history behind the reversal of the flow of the Chicago River. We've gone several times and it never gets old! The cruise begins near one of the best views of the city from the DuSable Bridge.
