Our Wedding

We met in early 2020, and our first date was sushi at Kinjo followed by studying together at Starbucks. Something about that day just felt easy and right, and what we thought might be a simple first date quickly turned into spending nearly every day together. On April 26, 2020, Seb asked Karlin to be his girlfriend, and from then on, our lives naturally blended. We built a relationship where showing up for each other felt effortless, and where friends became shared, overlapping circles that made life even more fun. Over the years, we’ve made so many memories—travelling with family to Hawaii, Mexico, Palm Springs, and Kelowna, and discovering how much joy we find in being outside together. Seb even convinced Karlin to pick up fishing (with a strong preference for the summer version over the winter one). Whether we’re playing sports, exploring the outdoors, or just enjoying the simple, everyday moments, being together has always felt like the best part of life. On February 14, 2025, Seb proposed in Canmore at his family’s condo—a place filled with years of personal memories, weekends away, and time shared with friends and loved ones. It was the perfect, meaningful spot to start the next chapter. Our wedding reflects who we are and what we love most: being outside, soaking in the beauty around us, and creating unforgettable memories with the people who mean the most to us. We can’t wait to celebrate surrounded by those who have been part of our journey.

Nina and Kar met at Mount Royal University in Calgary. It really was love at first sight and they have been friends ever since. Countless memories have been made including country concerts, vacations, rodeo weekends and girls nights. Nina is the most bubbly and kind person and we couldn’t imagine our wedding day without her!

Fi and Kar met through Nina one night celebrating Halloween together years ago. Fiona is the type of friend that would do anything for the people she loves and our life is so much better with her in it! She is like the older sister Karlin didn't have.

Morgan is the sweetest friend a girl could have. Kar met Morgan through Nina in university and have been friends since. This chapter has been so much sweeter planning our weddings together and she has been a constant support in our lives. Her kindness and positivity keeps all of us going.

Brooke and Kar met in university and have been besties since. Brooke is the most kind and genuine person who is always down for a giggle and definitely a fun time. We are so lucky to have Brooke in our life.

Seb’s younger brother, they have shared life long memories together from backyard sports and games to family trips all over the world. Dom is a pure hearted guy who is always trying to better himself and learn more about the world. He is authentically himself and an extremely hard worker. Dom is a loyal brother and Seb is so proud to have him stand by his side!

Seb’s younger brother, Ben is a lifelong best friend who Seb has been lucky enough to share countless memories with growing up. They have been able to spend quality time together lately over their love for fishing and being outdoors. Ben is a  hard working, driven guy and a genuine, selfless friend. Seb is extremely grateful to have Ben stand by his side on this special day.

Corbin is Seb’s cousin, they were both born in 98 and have been lifelong friends. Corb and his family moved to Kelowna when they were younger so while face to face time together became less over the years, the time spent together in the summers and on family vacations became even more meaningful. Corb is a dear friend and a very easy choice to have stand at Seb’s side on this special day.

Cousin Vince. Another 98 cousin who Seb had the pleasure of growing up with and spent 12 awesome years together everyday in the same class in school. Vince is an old soul, an amazing person to spend time with and as noble as a friend as there is. Seb had the privilege of standing by Vince’s side at his wedding in 2022 and is honoured to return the favour.

Q + A

Guests have a few options for accommodation!    1) Stay in Calgary   Guests have the option to stay in the city at a hotel or airbnb and come out to turner valley for the wedding day.   2) Camp/RV stay at The Britton Ranch (wedding venue)  We welcome guests to stay at the ranch! Bring your own camper, RV or camping set up and stay at the venue. Please contact Seb or Karlin for more details if you are interested in staying at the venue for the night. Guests camping at the ranch will need to arrive by at least 1:30pm wedding day to get set up. There will be no hook ups for camping.   3) Stay in an AirBNB or Bed and Breakfast near the venue  Turner Valley is a small town, but there are a few stay options near the Ranch. Guest that choose to stay in an airbnb nearby will be responsible for their own transport to the venue and back.    Please see a few options below!

The Britton Ranch is located 40 minutes from Calgary, AB.   There are a few options on getting to the Ranch day of!  

Drive and Park You can drive yourself/party to the ranch as we have ample parking available.

Paid Bus Transport We are looking into booking transportation for guests. This transport will leave from SW Calgary at approximately 1:30pm and arrive at the Ranch for the ceremony. After the dance pick up from the Ranch will be at approximately 1:00am.

If you are interested in bus transportation, please select yes while RSVPing. Once you select yes to the bus transport, Seb and Karlin will be in contact to organize payment and details. The cost will be around $20 total per person for transport to and from the venue.

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift. We are so excited to be building our future together, and instead of a traditional registry, we’ve created a house fund to help us save for our first home. Please feel free to bring your contribution day of the wedding. We would love if our family and friends could join us in dressing up for the occasion. We kindly request a formal dress code for our wedding. If you would like to add a little western flair to your ensemble, be our guest! For example, a fancy midi or maxi dress or suit. Feel free to add cowboy boots or a cowboy hat with your dress or suit.
