Abby Maas Dugard - Officiant and Bridesmaid
Abby and Kasey met in 2010 and have been inseparable ever since. While words will never describe the love within and depth of our connection, it's important to understand just how much we both love Abby Maas. Abby and her awesome husband, Matt, were married just six weeks before our wedding day, and we look forward to a lifetime of anniversary trips together! Abby loved and accepted Mason from day one and quickly considered him a second best friend. We have talked about Abby officiating our wedding someday from our first year together and could not be more excited to have her in our centermost role!
Mitch Nuss - Best Man
Mitch is Mason's older brother and only sibling. We are so proud of all he has accomplished in the United States Navy over the past several years. Mason loves and admires so many things about his older brother, and Kasey feels honored to have gotten to know him over the past eight years. From their very first meeting, Kasey and Mitch connected and are happy to have grown close in recent years. We both couldn't imagine anyone else as Mason's Best Man and were so excited to have him by our side during our special day. Due to unforeseen events in the US Navy on our wedding week, Mitch is unfortunately unable to attend tonight. We are thankful for his service and will miss him greatly! We love you so much, Mitch!
Kaylee Carpenter - Matron of Honor
We feel so lucky to be getting married a short seven months after Kasey's big sister, Kaylee, and her terrific husband, Will. Kaylee is Kasey's only sister and very close friend. Kasey is so grateful to Kaylee for her patience during Kasey's "difficult" years, as it led to the cultivation of a laughter, comfort, and adventure-filled closeness in adulthood. Kaylee and Kasey love to laugh, sing, and explore together, and Kasey looks up to Kaylee's kindness and drive more than she could ever express. Kaylee has taken Mason in as another brother, and it has been so special for Kasey to watch them grow closer in recent years. We are both honored and excited to have Kaylee standing at Kasey’s right hand side on our wedding day!
Tre O'Neill - Groomsman
Tre and Mason met through Carvana, where Mason has worked ever since moving to Arizona in 2018. The two quickly connected over their shared interests and today, they spend frequent time together. Tre is always ready for making memories and exploring all AZ has to offer! We appreciate his warmth, kindness, trivia knowledge, appreciation for good music, humor, and sincere acceptance of us both. He fits so well with us and is constantly a positive, caring, and goal-oriented presence. Tre was emotional when we made our first engaged appearance at his home on New Year's Eve; his friendship, care, and support mean more to us than we could ever describe.
Sam McCluskey - Bridesmaid
Sam and Kasey met on the first day of seventh grade! Shortly after realizing how much they had in common in their first musical together, Sam moved into Kasey's neighborhood that summer and, by the time eighth grade began, they were spending every day together. Though their connection went from daily to long-distance in 2014, Kasey and Sam became even closer, never going long without a phone call and supporting each other through major life developments. Sam was a huge part of encouraging Kasey to accept her feelings for Mason and loves us both in a priceless way to Kasey. We are so thankful to have her in our lives and by our side on our wedding day, and to call her Kasey's best friend forever.
Jeremiah Robinson - Groomsman
Jeremiah is Mason's "work spouse" through and through, as they've been a team from post-sale analytics to turning the Wholesale Department into something special. Jeremiah understands, accepts, and loves Mason for exactly who he is. He and his wonderful wife, Allison, are always down for anything from heart-to-hearts, to workplace collaboration, to Arizona adventures, to laughing until all of our stomachs hurt as we reflect on our respective time spent growing up in the Midwest. Jeremiah has supported our relationship from the very beginning of our time in AZ, and we are overjoyed to call him a friend and a groomsman.
Bridget McNiff - Bridesmaid
Bridget has been one of Kasey's best friends on this earth since the fall of 2009. From the first day they met, Bridget and Kasey were inseparable and that closeness has only grown over the past 14 years. It's truly abnormal for Kasey and Bridget to go a full 24 hours without talking, and it means more than Kasey can express to see the way Bridget loves Mason. Mason and Bridget have cultivated a very special friendship over the years, so she is an obvious choice to stand by our sides as we say, "I Do." We know we have a mutual best friend for life in Bridget: We are so grateful to have her as an irreplaceable part of our wedding day.
Geoff Wall - Groomsman
Mason and Geoff met through Carvana and quickly connected over their shared interests. Geoff's relaxed, gentle persona, genuine kindness toward us both, and up-for-anything attitude has led to him becoming one of our mutually favorite people to spend our time with. There has never once been a time that Geoff has not greeted us both with a smile, thoughtful check-in question, and many opportunities to find joy and fun together. Geoff and his wife, Suri, have the best ideas for making new memories and are loyal to the fullest degree. We feel honored to call them friends, and absolutely privileged to have Geoff standing next to Mason on our wedding day.
Carly DeJesus - Bridesmaid
Carly and her husband, Steve DeJesus, are family to us. They moved to AZ from PA around the same time we relocated from MN and have been instrumental to making AZ our shared home-away-from-home. Shortly after becoming friends, we made traditions of weekly hikes, 20-mile bike rides, and dinners at the Nuss house. Carly and Steve are our Arizona backbones: They helped us to move into our first home together, they are always a quick and reliable phone call away when either of us needs a friend or a favor, and they're Luna's local auntie and uncle. Carly and Steve had our house decorated and in celebration mode when we arrived home to AZ after getting engaged, and we are honored to have been the first to learn of their own engagement a few weeks later! We were proud witnesses at their wedding this March, and we sincerely could not say "I Do" without both Carly and Steve by our side.
Steve DeJesus - Groomsman
Steve and Mason met during Mason's early days at Carvana, as members of the same operations analytics team. After connecting, Mason introduced Kasey to Steve and his now wife, Carly. As mentioned under Carly's photo, Steve and Carly are family to us. From connecting in 2018, to becoming close in 2019, to becoming the best of friends in 2020, we look forward to a lifetime of memories with Steve and Carly by our sides. They are the kind of friends to drop everything without a second thought when we need them. They're always willing to explore new restaurants, destinations, and so much more with us and have had a major impact on our respective self and relationship growth over the past several years. We love Steve and Carly so much and are so excited for their future together. We are privileged to be a right-hand part of it!
Molly Jass - Bridesmaid
Molly is a mutual best friend who equally connects to and shares memories with us both, together and apart! Molly's genuine love and care for us as both individuals and a couple is something that we find immeasurably valuable. Molly was Kasey's roommate during her sophomore year of college, while Mason and his roommates (whom you can also meet on this tab!) lived just three floors below them. In "Friends" fashion, Molly spent essentially every day of our college experience by our respective sides. Molly and Sam (meet her below!) were instrumental to Mason's proposal to Kasey and ensured our day was nothing short of perfection. Molly's eclectic interests and compassionate heart connect with the truest parts of us, and we feel absolutely honored to have her as a part of our bridal party.
John Keblusek - Groomsman
We met John one day after meeting each other, and he fit right into our friend group immediately. Over the past nine years, he has been by our sides through some of the most developmental years of our relationship and beyond. John was Mason's roommate during sophomore and junior year of college, while Kasey and her roommates lived just three floors above. This “Friends”-type arrangement led John to cultivate an equally close friendship with us both that has strengthened and persisted to this day. When we moved into our first apartment together, John and our other college besties lived right across the street. We feel so fortunate to still call John one of our mutually favorite people; he makes us smile unlike anybody else simply by being exactly himself: a priceless person and friend.
Sam Hall - Bridesmaid
We would not be together if it weren't for the beautiful Sam Hall. Sam is the only person on earth who was there the moment we met, the moment we got engaged, and so many more special moments in between. Sam and Kasey had a soul connection from the moment they met while searching for a freshman year roommate. They roomed together freshman and sophomore year of college and were a short walk away junior and senior year! When we think of Sam, we think about some of our happiest memories together as a couple. We think of someone who can always make us laugh, holds us accountable, and accepts the two of us (together and apart) wholly and historically. From day one, to our engagement, to our wedding day and beyond, Sam is an invaluable friend, role model, and so much more to us whom we will always love so much!
Jon Lindahl - Groomsman
Jon was Mason's randomly-selected freshman year roommate. As they were getting to know each other, Jon was by Mason's side when they met Kasey and Sam on the first week of freshman year at the UMN. Despite being randomly paired together, Jon and Mason became good friends right away. As a part of our friend group, Jon and Kasey also became closer sidekicks in the months before we started dating. He was always down to join the two of us for reality cooking shows, buttered instant ramen, "second dinners," tea dates, city adventures, and so much more. Jon was truly the MVP of third wheeling our relationship during our first years together, living with Mason throughout the entirety of college, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We are so excited to have Jon by Mason's side on our wedding day!
Natalie Coon - Bridesmaid
Natalie and her twin sister Emily met Kasey when she was only two-years-old, when they moved into the house across the street from Kaylee and Kasey in spring 1998. Their families have remained next door neighbors and best friends to this day! In childhood, Kasey, Kaylee, and the Coon twins coined the family name "Coonpenter," as Em and Nat are more like sisters than friends. Natalie and Kasey paired up as "partners-in-crime" as kids, and Natalie helped Kasey to feel at home when she committed to the University of Minnesota one year after Natalie started college there. Nat and Em were able to celebrate with us and our families on a few occasions the week we became engaged, and for that we are so grateful. We can't wait for Mason and the Coons to continue connecting and becoming family, too, for the rest of our lives!
Drew Northrop - Groomsman & Reception Speaker
Drew and Mason attended high school together and were in the same friend group. After we started dating, they reconnected during the annual formal get-togethers of Mason's high school pals. Drew and his fiancee, Jacque, quickly became some of our favorite people to double-date with, and we all became extremely close in the months before we moved to AZ. Despite our move, Drew and Mason still talk nonstop. Drew remains one of Mason's biggest fans, and each time we spend time with him and Jacque feels like no time has passed. Drew was so excited for us when we became engaged and managed to feign surprise when we asked him to stand by Mason's side at our wedding. We cannot wait for a lifetime of continued memories with Drew and Jacque and are so happy to have Drew as Mason's groomsman!
Emily Coon - Bridesmaid
Emily and her twin sister Natalie have been sisters to Kasey since she was a toddler! As childhood best friends since 1998 (mentioned above in Natalie's bio), the Coonpenters have made a number of joint family traditions and memories over the years. Em and Nat have been there for Kasey's entire life, so Emily has seen and supported, inspired, and encouraged Kasey through many "interesting" seasons. She was also able to spend quality time with Kasey in Scottsdale this winter, and was instrumental in helping her to find a wedding dress she loves. Emily is always down for good food, experiences, and company with a smile on her face. We were so happy to get to celebrate our engagement with Emily, Natalie, and our families, and we look forward to so many memories in the future.
Jack Tobin - Groomsman
Jack and Mason have been close friends since high school; to this day, they can hop on the phone with each other, be talking for five minutes, and quickly realize it's actually been five hours. Jack's kind heart, comfortability with himself, and fascinating outlook on life have inspired Mason for over a decade. He generously flew to Arizona for Mason's first two birthdays across-the-country to ensure Mason felt adored and celebrated the way he did growing up. From the moment Jack met Kasey, they developed a friendship and appreciation for the way each other loves Mason. Jack even helped Kasey out with some of her graduate school interviews! Jack loves to remind Mason of just how special he is; we could not say "I Do" without Jack by Mason's side, and are so lucky to have him.
Maggie Hawn - Bridesmaid
Maggie and her husband Tyler moved to AZ from Nashville one year after we moved from MN. Maggie and Mason were on the same team at work and became good friends. They began going out for happy hours with their friend group, where Maggie met and befriended Kasey. Maggie and Tyler have become invaluable friends to us both. We've helped each other in settling far from our first homes and have shared some of our most special Arizonan moments together. From board game nights, to theme parties, to inspiration in adulthood, to them becoming parents this year, to boating in the mountains, to being blessed enough to have her take our engagement photos, our memories together and to come are countless and abundant. We are overcome with gratitude to have Maggie as a part of our bridal party and as a shared friend for life.
Kayla Vo - Bride's Personal Attendant
Kayla became friends with Kasey early on in college. While in the same apartment complex, they would bond over life experiences, goals, and shared senses of humor while enjoying cabernet sauvignon and spaghetti. These conversations preceded Kayla's engagement to her husband, Andy, where Kasey was happy to be by her side. Kasey is so grateful to Kayla for the way Kayla believes in, supports, and always works to stay connected to her. Kayla is among the kindest, most caring, and most responsible people Kasey is honored to know, so she was an obvious choice to be her personal attendant on our wedding day! We are so grateful for Kayla's friendship and for the help she will provide on our special day by ensuring all runs smoothly and that we are present-focused.
Jaret Carpenter - Ceremony Guitarist & Speaker
Jaret is Kasey's one and only little brother and one of the smartest, funniest, most authentic, and most gifted people we have the honor of knowing and loving. Jaret and Kasey were friends from the day he was born, and she’s so thankful that he stuck by her through the middle school years to cultivate a truly priceless adult friendship and support system. Jaret's moments spent connecting with Mason over the years mean more to Kasey than she can ever verbalize, and we are both so excited for a lifetime of family love, fun, and memories spent by his side. We can't wait to show pieces of Jaret's wonderful personality and love with our guests, as his energy is magnetic and his support is a tangible, beautiful thing. Jaret is the best little brother and brother-in-law we could ask for. We love him so much!
Will Mulhern - Ceremony Speaker
Will is our brother-in-law, who has been in the Carpenter family since early 2013 when he started dating Kasey's big sister, Kaylee. We are honored to be getting married a short seven months after Kaylee and Will, as we have shared so many special moments with him and look forward to many more in the future. We are so grateful to Will for his authentic excitement for life, our planet, and our family, and we could not imagine our family without him. He brings laughter, calm, quiet, excellent drink recommendations, and support to our crew and seeing him always brings us joy. We look forward to having Will featured on our wedding day, as he means so much to both of us and has for a very long time. We love you, Will!
Jessica Stone - Ceremony Speaker
Jessica is the beautiful, kind, and hilarious long-time girlfriend of Kasey's little brother, Jaret. Jess fit in with the Carpenter clan from day one and has spent several special moments by our mutual sides. We are so fortunate to have a family of five-turned-eight that gets along so well and has so much fun together, and Jess is an irreplaceable part of that equation. Jess has a palpable light, kindness, optimism, and universal acceptance of others that is nothing short of inspiring. She has the patience of a saint and a hilarious sense of humor. We cannot wait for her to spread her light to our guests and loved ones on our wedding day! We love you, Jess!
Alex Dye - Usher
Mason and Alex have been close friends since high school. We recently had the opportunity to spend ample quality time with Alex and his wife, Katie (another great friend!) in Dallas, Texas and had a wonderful experience. Alex never fails to show up for Mason and has put in continuous work and love into their friendship, despite recently beginning his journey with fatherhood and living in Minnesota. Alex is a truly wonderful friend and we are both so grateful to have him featured on our special day!
Isaiah Cammon - Usher
Kasey and Isaiah have been incredibly close since meeting on the first day of seventh grade. Isaiah has been by Kasey's side for nearly sixteen years and they have supported each other through countless wonderful, difficult, and absolutely hilarious moments in life. Kasey and Mason are so happy for Isaiah's finding the love of his life in another wonderful friend, Emily; we got to celebrate their epic wedding just two years ago. We are so happy to get to feature Isaiah; he's a member of Kasey's family and a cherished part of our world!
Luna Rae Carpenuss - Flower Girl
Our beautiful husky daughter, Luna Rae, was our immediate choice for our flower girl. A pet of absolute perfection, Luna's favorite things include her parents, her best friend Loki (see below), her extended family, sunbathing, avoiding water, earning treats, stealing food, dog parks and doggie daycare, receiving her monthly Bark Box, stealing tennis balls, walking and playing, cuddling (on her time and terms), and howling at 5:00 AM. She's the best part of our world! We are arguably most excited about seeing her walk down the aisle on our wedding day! She will be escorted by our dear friend, Danielle Morrison, who fostered and introduced Luna to us, forever changing our world for the better.
Loki Nuss - Ring Bearer
Loki (and his trusted harness with pockets) will serve as our ring bearer on our special day. As Luna's best friend and one of our *other* favorite pups, we had to include him! Loki is easily the most passionate fetcher we have ever met. His silly, goofy, and sometimes dopey personality brings a smile to all those with whom he comes into contact. Because he met and befriended Luna while he was a puppy, Loki developed the unique quality of trying his best to howl like a husky. He just may be the most talkative and loving golden retriever out there! Kasey can't wait to be Loki's sister-in-law. Loki will be escorted down the aisle by our dear friend, Adam Morrison, who fostered and introduced our sweet Luna to us alongside his wife, Danielle.
