Semi-formal. Keep in mind that the ceremony is on the top of a mountain, so you will need shoes that allow you to walk down/up a short graded slope. The reception is right by the hotel if you would like to change your shoes after the ceremony.
What's the weather like?
Lovely (we hope)! Mid-September is the tail end of summer in Vermont and one of the nicest times to visit. The daily average high is 76 °F and the daily average low is 54 °F. Sorry, we will still be pre-leaf season!
The top of the mountain (where the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held) may be windy so plan your attire accordingly.
How to ride a chairlift?
As a reminder, all guests will be taking a chairlift from the base of the mountain to the top of the mountain for our ceremony. If you have not ridden a chairlift before, don't fret! They are quite sturdy and slow down for you to easily get on and off. Once you get on, a safety bar pulls down to keep you in securely as you ride up the mountain. At the top of the mountain, you may raise the safety bar yourself or it will pop up automatically right before you get off. If you have any questions or are nervous about riding the chair, please speak to the chairlift operators at the bottom of the lift. They can stop or even slow down the chairlift for you to get on. We promise, it is super easy and fun, and the views are 100% worth it!
What if it rains?
Though we will be hoping for no rain, we have an indoor back-up plan in the event of inclement weather. We will closely be monitoring the weather prior to the big day, and will notify guests if we will be shifting plans inside.
Where is your registry?
We kindly request no gifts for our wedding. The best gift we could ask for is your journey to Vermont to celebrate with us!
Band or DJ?
We are excited to have a band, as we will be cutting up quite a few rugs during the reception.
