Sometimes when you're least expecting it, love walks into your life and changes your world forever. Doors closed and doors opened in ways we didn't understand in our individual pasts. But Blacksburg had a funny way of holding us captive so that one day, OUR door could open.
If you had told Kaitlyn that one day she would own a hot pink fishing rod, shoot her first gun, and find a love for homemade venison jerky.... or if you told Blake one day he'd fly on his first airplane and find a love for fondue and dubstep concerts--- we'd both say you were crazy!!! We've completely immersed ourselves in each others worlds and embraced new roots in so many unexpected ways. We're lovers of all things kayaking, discgolfing, laser tagging, hiking, woodburning, lava lamps, guitar hero, plant cultivation, murder crime podcasts, concerts, cooking, and electric scootin on adventures. We bond over our connection to nature and there is never a dull moment together with our love for absurdity, adrenaline, and having the absolute most fun possible.
2.5 years later, more deeply in love than ever, we moved 2,500 miles away from everything we ever knew to embark on this adventure as Virginia Tech alumni in Washington state. This house in the evergreens with our dog (Hyzer), snake (Penelope), and cat (Kia) has shown us what it means to create an identity when everything feels unfamiliar, and the value of treasuring family and the ones you love no matter the distance. We could not be more excited to have this special time to see our greatly missed family and friends. We hope you can join us at Snowshoe this year for a Valentine's Day weekend overflowing with love and celebration!!
