Many of these activities (and others!) are within walking distance of the two downtown Portsmouth hotels.
If you are interested in a stop on your drive from Boston to Portsmouth, we have a few favorite places along the route:
Treehouse Brewing Company has a location in Tewksbury right on the way, and is quite possibly the best brewery in the country
Newburyport, MA is a small New England beach town with a quaint downtown and nice beaches
If you are interested in extending your trip and visiting other locations in New England, we would recommend Portland, Boston, Ogunquit, or Acadia National Park. See below for a few of our favorite spots!
Eventide Oyster Co. for our favorite lobster roll
Central Provisions for great small plates
Maine Beer Company outside of Portland for great beer
Toro for Spanish tapas close to Nick’s old apartment (aka the MickMansion)
Uni for a nice sushi dinner in Boston’s Back Bay near the famous Newbury Street
Pammy’s for Italian food in Cambridge, or Trattoria Il Panino in Boston’s famous North End (Little Italy)
Row 34 for oysters in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood
Anchovies or Delux Café if you want to visit one of Kate and Nick’s favorite late-night food and drink spots in the South End
Walk around the Boston Public Garden where Kate and Nick took their engagement photos
