What is the dress code?
The dress code is semi-formal.
For women, knee- to ankle-length dresses with lightweight fabrics that are easy to move in. Suits and separates are also welcome.
For men, suits with or without ties, or dress pants with a dinner jacket and button-up shirt. You are more than welcome to dress in our wedding party colors or other springtime tones! We are hoping to get some fun photos with all our guests.
What is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by April 4. You can RSVP right here on our website! We'll reach out to you around the second week of April if we haven't received an RSVP by then.
What is the parking situation?
It is self-parking only, and free! There are a number of handicap parking spaces, and you can leave your cars overnight if you have a little too much fun 😉
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
We are having an unplugged ceremony and trust our photographer to capture all the most important moments. Please, no photos or videos of any kind during our ceremony. During cocktail hour and reception, you are welcome to take as many photos as you like! We'll have a dropbox for all guest photos, and are so excited to see our wedding from your point of view.
Will there be line dancing at the wedding?
Have you MET Matthew? Yes! If you want to brush up on your boot scoot boogieing, here are a few dances we plan to include in the reception, in no particular order:
- American Kids (easy)
- Cha-cha Caliente (hard)
- Shivers (moderate)
- Slappin' Leather (moderate)
- Redneck Angel (moderate)
- The Wolf (moderate)
- Electric Slide (easy)
- Country Girl Shake (easy)
- The Wobble (easy)
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding will have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour and an indoor/outdoor reception. It is all in the same venue location, so no need to worry about transportation from ceremony to reception!
What will the weather be like?
The forecast shows a high of 63 and a low of 53, with light rain expected before and after the ceremony. Our ceremony is outside, so dress warm!
Where can I stay?
There are several hotels within three miles of our venue! Our coordinator highly recommends Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods - Aliso, but there are also Homewood Suites by Hilton Aliso and Renaissance ClubSport Aliso nearby.
What time should I arrive?
Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5, so please plan to arrive around 15 minutes early to sign our guest book, settle in and mingle. The venue will be open to guests starting at 4:30, and there will be complimentary water, tea, coffee, and sodas on your arrival!
What should I do if I can't attend?
We'll miss you! But no explanation or gift is necessary. Kate loves collecting cards and letters from loved ones, so if you would like to send the couple well-wishes in lieu of attending it would be more than welcome.
Are children allowed?
While we adore your little ones, we’re keeping our guest list limited to include only a few children who are near and dear to our hearts. We kindly ask that you make arrangements for a child-free evening, and will share here a couple excellent local sitters! Thank you for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
I have dietary restrictions. What can I do?
We will be having a buffet-style dinner, and will have a couple vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free options for hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and entrees, so everyone can be a part of the heroes' feast!
Do you have a gift registry?
We do! On the Registry page of our website, you'll find our linked registries as well as our cash fund registries for Home, Honeymoon, and Charity. No gifts are necessary, but all are appreciated!
