DFW is a major hub for American Airlines and other carriers, offering tons of flight options. Rental cars and rideshares are plentiful and easy to access. DFW is farther from downtown Dallas than Lovefield, (about 20 miles), though Carrollton is relatively close (20 minutes).

Lovefield is smaller and more efficient with quick security lines and easy terminal access. It's also a Southwest Airlines hub and is closer to downtown Dallas if you want to stay or sightsee closer to Dallas. Lovefield requires a little bit more of a walk to access the rideshare pickup/dropoff area.

Overall, if you're flying Southwest or prefer a low-key airport experience, Love Field is a great choice. If you prefer other airlines or need more flight flexibility, DFW might be your best bet.
