In place of a formal Rehearsal Dinner, we will be having a welcome party for everyone! It will be a Movie Night on the beach, inspired by one of our favorite Cape activities, the Drive-in Movie Theatre in Wellfleet. A food truck will serve dinner and it will truly be a laid-back vibe! Whenever you arrive in Truro, feel free to come by, meet each other, and celebrate love!

Historical Hike
Saturday, October 16, 2021
10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Cornhill Beach
Cornhill Rd., Truro, MA, 02666
Attire: Walking Gear
Our friend Jay has offered to give his famous historical tour of Truro! Walk the Hidden History of Corn Hill with our friend and (amateur) Truro historian Jay Vivian, who will show you where the Pilgrims stole corn from the Indians (1620); Martin Pring took the first summer vacation in Truro (1603), and Bartholomew Gosnold named Cape Cod (1602). See where the train line to Ptown was completed (1873) and the Pamet Harbor lighthouse sat (with a red beacon, 1849-1856). Add in the house of Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood) and John Reed (one of only 3 Americans buried in the Kremlin), mourn the loss of hundreds of Truro men and boys lost at sea, and visit the site of a German glider school that set gliding records in the late '20s, far surpassing the Wright brothers flights 17 years earlier. There's a lot of history right at hand, under your feet! About 2 miles walking on dirt and paved road, 2 hours, frequent stops to talk history. Meet at the Corn Hill Beach parking lot, at the far (north) end by the little park with the flagpole.
