The Portland Japanese Garden is a beautiful garden located in the West Hills of portland right above and next to Forest Park. The Japanese costs to get in (well worth it) but is shares an entrance with the free and famous Portland Rose Garden. There are lots of trails that start from this area if you are looking for a good little hike.
Powell's City of Books is a bookstore that is a city block long and four stories high. It's a site to be seen, especially for the book lovers.
NW 23rd (and 21st) is a fun street lined with boutiques, delicious restaurants and fun bars. Salt and Straw, a few McMenamins and Blue Star Donut can be found on this street.
There are so many great places to eat and see it's hard to just recommend a few. Instead I thought that instead I would make a list of places to Google. I love being a Portland (and Vancouver) tour guide so please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
-OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry)- A fun interactive museum
- Forest Park - 70 miles of hiking trails just a mile from NW district. (Take a dog from the amazing Oregon Humane Society with you!)
-Saturday Market- Spans many many blocks by the river and open year round
-Mt. Tabor-A fun park in the middle of the city

Streets to walk- Alberta, Mississippi, NW 23rd, Belmont and Hawthorne.
Multnomah Falls is 30 minutes outside of Portland in the beautiful gorge. The drive itself is breathtaking and full of other waterfalls and hikes. If you go a little further, you find yourself in Hood River-a cute town also full of breweries.
