Our Wedding

Kate met Alex her first weekend at Georgia College at a fraternity party. She approached him first (which was very out of character for her) and asked if he knew the song playing. He said yes (and apparently lied because he didn’t actually know it) and they sang and danced together to one of the most basic songs out there....Mr. Brightside. From there, they exchanged numbers and stayed in touch as friends until Kate came to her senses 6 months later. Luckily, Alex remained patient because they have been inseparable ever since. Now, they live together in Augusta with their sweet cats, Bobby and Nova! Alex and Kate’s 6+ year journey has consisted of growth, patience, loss, compromise, and many core memories together. Following graduation and a year of finding their places in this world, Alex agreed to move to Augusta, GA so Kate can fulfill her dreams of becoming a mental health counselor, and he found his passion for teaching in the process. By the time they get married, they will both have Master’s degrees and be in their professions as a high school teacher and therapist. Looking back on their 18 and 19-year-old selves, who knew they would be where they are now? This is just one more chapter of their lives and they are excited for you to help celebrate the start of it!

Are you spending the weekend in Savannah? 

There are so many things to do! Together we created a list of some activities that show you the beauty of Savannah and a few of our favorite local spots to eat and drink! Cheers!

You can schedule a guided tour or go take a stroll on your own! Bonaventure is the most well-known cemetery in Savannah and has gorgeous views. 

Bonaventure Cemetery 

This is where Kate and Alex got engaged! They have made many trips to Oatland Island over the years, and it is one of Kate’s favorite things to do in Savannah. You will see a range of animals from wolves and bison to owls and alligators, all of which are being treated and not able to survive in the wild. 

Oatland Island Wildlife Center 

The trolley tours are a classic tourist activity that shows you all around the city of Savannah! There are also ghost and history tours provided through the company. We recommend this for those who have not spent much time in Savannah!

Old Savannah Tours: Hop On and Off Trolley Tour 

One of our favorite spots in Midtown is Starland Yard! It’s a truly unique spot with shipping containers, food trucks, bar, and an awesome brewery next door! (it’s right across the street from the venue) Definitely check out Two Tides Brewery afterwards :)

Starland Yard 

Moodrights was our go-to bar when we lived in Savannah. It has a few pool tables, duck bowling, and great bar food at Over Yonder, which is connected on the other side. Definitely a local favorite!

On top of the Perry Lane Hotel, Peregrin is a cute rooftop bar with gorgeous views and yummy (and a little expensive) cocktails! A great day or night spot to stop for a drink.

One of our go-to coffee shops that also serves wine! There is an outdoor courtyard that is connected to a book store.
