Our Wedding

Alex and Kate met in the early hours on January 22, 2022, at L’Enfant Metro Station in Washington, DC. Both had been out the prior night and decided to metro home. While waiting for the train to arrive, Alex and Kate locked eyes with each other and knew there was something special. Once on the train, Kate built enough confidence to start a conversation. While talking, both learned they were interning in the US Senate. Phone numbers were exchanged, but both had different ideas on using their new contact. Alex took it as an opportunity to ask her out while Kate, who is just moving to DC from Tennessee, thought it would be a great contract for networking. Either way, they both decided to see each other on a date. After seeing each other for a while, Alex and Kate started to date. Both knew their time together would be limited, as Alex was returning to Germany, but they decided to make the most of it and try for long distance. Throughout the past 3 years, Alex and Kate took turns traveling across the world to see each other. They spent many holidays and special occasions by each other's side. Long distance made each of their meetings more special and meaningful.

Both Paris and Amsterdam have very good public transportation connections throughout Europe, including to Arnsberg. Kate´s family flew into Paris on their first trip to Europe and took the train right into Arnsberg! However, we highly recommend renting a car as it is very easy to drive around to different countries!

This hotel is located at our venue. So if you like convenience, no need for a taxi ride home in the night at a reasonable price, and want to have breakfast with Kate and Alex the morning after, this is the place to be! Rooms are reserved from 07/04 till 07/06, but limited. If you are interested, please let Alex or Kate know!

This hotel is located in downtown Neheim, about 15 minutes by car away from our venue.Fun fact: if you decide to use this location, you will be sleeping in the old office tower of the old Kaiser family's (Alex's family) firm, Kaiser-Leuchten!

Fletcher Hotel is probably the biggest accomodation in and around Neheim, located directly in the woods. Fletcher is also located around 20 minutes from our venue.Fun fact: It is located directly next to Rodelhaus.

July 5-7A Schützenfest is a traditional festival or fair featuring a target shooting competition in Germany. At a Schützenfest, contestants compete based on their shooting abilities. The competition's winner becomes the Schützenkönig ("king of marksmen") until the following year's competition.

Its flagship is the Warsteiner brand, one of Germany’s leading premium pilsener brands.They offer interesting tours on the history of their brewery, but especially to understand how beer is brewed! The parade, with more than 10,000 participants from Germany and all over the world and more than 100 bands, is 7.5 miles long. It is the longest parade in the world. The landmark of the Ferris wheels is one of the highest transportable big wheels in the world. It is 200 ft high and offers seating for 420 people in 42 cabins.
