We met in kindergarten and by 4th grade we were best friends, always passing notes to each other in class. By the time 10th grade came around, we officially started dating. We graduated high school hand in hand, and headed off to college an hour apart. College brought lots of changes for us but we truly can say distance makes the heart grow fonder. After both graduating college in May, John had his own idea of a graduation present. On May 16, 2024, standing on what felt like the top of the world, John proposed at Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina surrounded by the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. For Katelyn, it was an easy yes to spending the rest of her life with her best friend. For John, forever with the love of his life was no longer a dream, but a reality.
