On October 31st 2020, Brett arrived at The Stubborn Goat Gastro Pub in Downtown Halifax and waited outside for Kate to arrive (being the gentleman that he is, to escort her into the restaurant) Kate mentioned she has never been taken to brunch as a first date and how refreshing it was to meet during the daytime hours for a change. Their connection was instant, and undeniable. After brunch they enjoyed a short walk on the waterfront. The perfect first date. Minus the fact that Kate was so nervous she downed 3 cups off coffee, and as someone who doesn't drink caffeinated beverages she was more than a little anxious. Somehow, Brett brought a sense of calm to her even after the caffeine overload.

Fast forward a few months. Brett and Kate are seemingly inseparable and quickly finding a deep and lasting connection. While they have had a few bumps in the road, as with every new relationship of any kind, they continue to support each other, find the light in darker situations and realize they are each others 1 in 7.8 billion.

In November of 2022 Kate had happily accepted a photography gig for a beautiful AirBnB in Medway River, NS which just so happens to be one of the first spots that Brett and Kate can honestly say they knew they were truly in love when they spent a winter wonderland weekend at a tiny home on the Medway River in January of 2021. It was a welcome weekend away since it just so happened to be Kate's birthday that weekend as well. Upon their arrival to the AirBnB Kate started taking a few photos and then turned around, where Brett leaned in for a kiss then dropped to one knee with a small box revealing a gorgeous diamond ring. And just like that Kate got to say yes to the man of her dreams.

Now, like I said Brett and Kate knew from the beginning that this would be a forever kind of thing for them. So its no surprise, that they also announced a month later that they were happily expecting their first child(technically second, sorry Luna!) a baby girl who would be joining the world in July of 2023.
