Des Moines International Airport
If you're flying in for the wedding, your best option is the
Des Moines International Airport!
Carper's Winery is roughly 30 minutes from the Des Moines International Airport and is located approximately 16 minutes/12 miles from West Des Moines. Both hotels, the Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites, are about 20 minutes from the airport.
More information about transportation from the airport such as rental cars, Uber, taxi, and the airport shuttle can be found on the airport website.

The reserved room blocks are in hotels right next to each other; both are great options! Shuttles will pick-up / drop-off between the two hotels.

Des Moines and the surrounding areas provide wonderful options through AirBnB or Vrbo as well.
RideShare Services (Uber / Lyft)
Uber and Lyft are both very active in the Des Moines area, so we'd recommend using them to explore the city before or after the wedding at your leisure while downtown.
However, we do not recommend the ride share services for the wedding day celebrations. Carper's Winery is 20 minutes outside the city and ride share services rarely go south of the airport. If you choose to take a ride share service, please be prepared for the potential of a long wait at the end of the night and consider having a back-up plan. One option is to take the provided shuttle service back into the city and then ordering an Uber or Lyft from there.
If you are having issues with transportation at the end of the evening, please let someone know sooner than later so we can find you a ride.
SHUTTLE SERVICES TO/FROM CEREMONY
The shuttle services will be available between hotel room block locations (Homewood Suites & Hampton Inn) and Carper Winery.
If you choose to take advantage of the shuttle, please arrive to the designated pick-up location at least 5 mins before the shuttle is set to leave. The seats are first come-first served and will leave at their designated time.
Hotel to Ceremony Leave Times:
2 PM [2 shuttles; one at each hotel]
Reception to Hotel Leave Times:
8 PM, 8:30 PM, 9 PM, 9:30 PM, 10 PM, 11 PM
